Whew! Turns out the lady I'm debating on Facebook is a COP! Take a gander at some of these exchanges.

This is what started the whole thing. Me:  "I posted a comment here yesterday and I guess the original author didn't like it and removed it. Some people won't understand this but, If everyone that was legally able to, carried a personal firearm on them at all times, we could stop incidents such as the Colorado tragedy. Take some lessons, practice and start doing your share to make society safe once again".

Much Later and several volleys of discourse we get to these nuggets.

Me:  "Since there is NO WAY to forecast a persons future acts we should place bans on constitutionally guaranteed actions? Thousands of people a year are killed in, with and by cars. Not constitutional items or guarantees yet you don't call for bans on them? I don't know you from Eve but I would gladly put put my life on the line for you. Could I expect the same? As the saying goes, when your life depends on seconds, the police are just minutes away."

She:  " As long as they have conceal and carry they should have to carry a million dollar liability policy that way if they accidentally shoot somebody their insurance company will have to handle it. They have a quote that fits perfectly, "With great power comes great responsibility." Also I have to carry insurance on my car whats any different according to you. Cars are the same as guns is that not what you just said?"


She: "Weather I'm Seconds or minutes away I have a job and a passion as a peace officer to serve and protect my fellow man and woman and that includes yourself if you are ever in a situation where you need protecting, no matter how much you ridicule my fellow brothers and sisters"


Me:   "NO, guns are not the same as cars. There is NO constitutional right to own or operate a car. We have a God given, government recognised right to bear arms. And for the record I do not ridicule Cops. I state facts,like The Supreme Court has ruled that the police have no duty to protect. That's them not me. May god protect you on your job and keep you safe."


It makes me tired just reading her labored pseudo points with no reason or facts.

Colorado Fallout

You otta see the discussion I'm having with a woman on facebook regarding legal carry of firearms, the Colorado shooting and how one could have changed the other. Talk about a person with their head in the sand. She tells me I'm pulling stats out of my ass when I urge her to look up FBI stats!She thinks legal concealed carry folks are committing crimes on a regular basis. She uses the Zimmerman incident as proof. Some folks just don't want to burden themselves with the truth.

News, Views and Stuff

I went to the big Makita clearance sale and found that even at 1/2 price I still couldn't afford a new cordless drill. I know that cordless tools are not necessary but they are sure handy. As the name implies...cordless. You can buy cheaper tools and I looked at some yesterday. I have a cheaper drill that is very powerful and works well but the batteries are short lived and cost more than the drill did when you try to buy replacements. I saw the drill new at Wally World for 69 bucks. To buy a new battery for the one I have it will cost 80 dollars!

HOLD THE PRESSES! The Chosen One was has been chosen again. He has received a Nobel Peace Prize. For what? When you consider the nominations were conducted when Barry had been in office only 11 day what could he possibly have done? Don't tell me the Nobel organization has been taken under the hope and change spell. I'm starting to think the fix is in. HA HA HA.

Barry keeps picking some real winners for his cabinet. It has now come out that his Safe Schools Czar is a backer of............NAMBLA! WTF? Now his Muslim Relations Advisor has been on a show in Israel sitting alongside a leader of a group that wants the Western way of life destroyed, endorsing Sharia law. Again, WTF? Can this Administration get any more twisted?

When 1 in 4 people of the world are Muslim I say "Come on Christians have more babies". We're as guilty as the next as we are a one child family and it's a moot point at this time, but seriously, Christians need to breed like rabbits or we will be a dying breed. Can you believe 1 in 4 over the whole world? I guess when their women are kept in wraps, not allowed to hold a job, rarely go out in public there isn't much to do except have children.

It rained all freakin' day yesterday and I woke up to sprinkles and drizzle this morning. The forecast calls for rain or even a little snow for Saturday. Am I ever going to get this roof done? Oh well. Take it as it comes I guess.

I went buy a friends garage yesterday and we got to talking of course about guns and then got around to concealed carry. I got adding up and found I was packing 40 rounds of ammo on me. One 13 round mag in the well and one round in the pipe and two spare 13 round mags. I won. I ask again, what do you carry? Yesterday I was packing the XD45 Tactical 5 inch. How about you?

Open Carry for All

I haven't done any postings for the last coupla days as I haven't seen anything that really floated my boat. Obama did this and Obama did that. The stock market did this and the stock market did that. So what! I'm still unemployed along with about a jillion other folks and 4 or 5 million more join us every month. Real Estate is cheap but I can't afford to get out of my old house cause no one can afford to buy my old house. Hey, at least food's gettin' cheaper but gas is gettin' higher. Whew! Enough of that crap!

It's mowing day tomorrow and it's RAINING again. Oh, well. I'll go up to my Dads' place and do some painting and try get my mower through the jungle on Wednesday, maybe.

I shot my little .45 last week and it had several failure to feed malf's. Tap, Tap, Rack, Boom. Several times. I brought it home disassembled tha' darn thing, cleaned everthing, lubed all the needed parts and then unloaded both the mags and let the springs relax for a few days. I've been carrying the XD 45 Tactical for the time being. I'll try the little one out this week and see if any thing improved. One mag is a Chip Mcormick and the other is a Novak. Never had any probs of any sort with this gun so I'm hoping it was just a little dry from all the carrying it gets. I'll have to keep an eye on this.

I just assembled the shot gun I've been working on. It sure looks purty to me. Stealth gray Dura Coat, Ebony stained forend and a black Pachymar pistol grip. It sure is sharp.

Here's a little good news... A Federal Judge has ruled that cops can't stop someone from open carry of a firearm. Let's see how long that takes to get around to all the towns that are illegally preempting states law. Just in my area I can think Of North Kansas City and a couple of others that deny the right to open carry. I need to check the municipal ordinances here in my humble little burg as I have heard some plain STUPID stories about how our PD handles open carry(which is legal in Missouri). Check out opencarry.org in the forum section for some interesting stories about open carry. We'll see how that plays with Missouri's compromise. In order to get the concealed carry bill passed they had to add the provision that if a business didn't want someone to carry concealed in their store all they had to do was post a sign on the front door stating "NO firearms Allowed". Some have stretched it by having a sign that states "NO Weapons Allowed" Maybe that's because Missouri's CCL law is really a CCW law. Concealed Carry Weapon law, Aha! My son lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The moment he turned 21 he applied for his CCL. Later, the local PD got in trouble for harassing a man that was open carrying (legal by state law). He contacted the States Attorney General and he contacted the Mayor and Police Chief and now, there's no problem with open carry in VB. My son says he now carries open more than concealed.
