Kansas and Barry, Barry And The Muslims
Every time we look at the secretive background of Mssr. Otero, aka President Obama, aka Barry, we come away mystified. That is if you're a Conservative or Repuglican. If you're Liberal or Dimocrap, you believe he's as pure as the driven snow. In regards to his actual birthplace we keep seeing challenges to his claims of legitimacy. The State of Kansas, yes one of the fly over states, will debate pulling Obama off the ballot due to a filing by a man named Joe Montgomery. Montgomery is communication director for the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Kansas State University. Kansas has some pretty stiff rules about removing a name from a ballot. We'll see if being an illegal alien will satisfy those rules.
Speaking of Obama, how about that foreign policy he's utilising? Delivering a presidential face slap to the Leader of our only ally in the middle east. This makes the second or third time Obama has kept Netanyahu cooling his heels while good ol' Barry wiles away his time on the golf course or in this latest instance appearing on a late night TV show. How crass can you be to refuse to meet with a world leader in order to fuel your need for attention by going on a talk show.
We have our Embassies all over the Muslim world under attack. Now understand this, any embassy, not just ours, is considered sovereign territory of the the nation represented by the embassy. So, attacking one of our embassies is akin to running an explosives laden boat into the side a naval vessel, or to take it a little further, docking a troop ship on the New York docks and taking them over.
While all this is going on Barry is doing what? Who knows? Golfing? Campaigning? Watching yet another concert on the White House lawn? We know he's not going to do anything to offend his Muslim brothers. Well, what ever he's doing is not doing us any good. He apologises for every thing we have ever done and it gets us riots at our embassies. It gets our Ambassadors killed. We have two Embassies overran and we are just now sending in the Marines to try and save our embassy in Libya? You and I know what to do about all this bullshit. Close all of our embassies in the the offending states, cut ALL funding to those states, send in hunter/killer teams to take out the leaders that approved these attacks. Then tell them if they want our dollars, our tools, our equipment, our education they will play nicely or we'll send in the F-117's and send them all the way back to the 13th century where they all think they are anyway. Look at it this way, if a thug assaults you and your home, what are you gonna do? If you're like me you, will try as hard as you can to waste that thug and his buddies too. That's the attitude we need to adopt in response to these attacks.

A Big Ol' Buck Times Two
I was driving to work last night, using a road I've driven since I was a young man. It's a two lane black top that goes up and down hills and has a few good curves to it. This road passes by houses, farms, fields, fence lines and wooded acres. It's these last four that produce some really well developed deer in this area. There is very low hunting pressure due to large tracts being owned by individual families and other parcels owned by folks that don't allow hunting. The deer have outstanding feed, water, cover and minerals that produce large healthy fawns, twins and triplets every year. So, traveling along my way last night I see a big bruiser standing in the ditch next to the road. He must have been 275-300 pounds on the hoof and had a rack of 10-12 points spreading wider than his ears and at least two times higher than his ears. With good feed this fall he could tip the scales towards the 400 mark. Very excellent buck. If he doesn't travel across any ones shooting lanes this fall he'll have some nice genes to pass along. It's amazing that these big animals, in huge numbers to boot, are seldom seen and can live in a residential/farming area and do so in in relative secrecy.
I used to hunt up in northwestern Missouri. It is some very productive hunting grounds. One Saturday morning after 5 inches of rain we hunted a section of land along the White Cloud River. At that time I was driving a big, powerful, lifted 1978 Ford Bronco. I tell ya, it was a beast. The hunt organizer asked me to load everyone up and take them about half way across the section. A section that had been disked and then had five inches of rain on it. What a ride! We made it to the halfway point and I turn around to be heading towards the return line. We all dispersed to our favorite stands. I selected a woody fence row that had a field on either side and a wooded draw making a T with the fence. It was still raining at that point. I was swiveling my head around looking for any sign of a deer in the heavy rain when I spotted something in my peripheral vision. Turning to the right I spied a big buck crawling under a fence. He then stood up and sauntered across the field behind me. I turned around and raised my rifle only to have the scope it blurred by the rain and condensation. I watched in frustration as the buck moved to that wooded draw and laid down. When we all met at noon to check in the taken deer and get lunch too. I told the organizer the story and he said we would come back and put me at the tip of the draw and have a couple guys walk up from the bottom. When we got back I was not happy at all. One of the group, a slovenly, disheveled, toothless young man and his uninvited friend decided to come back without anyone and walk that draw. When we returned he was sitting in the field waiting on us. He had walked up in the rain and shot that buck in his bed. The organizer, the assholes father, was very angry with his son for his action. Any way, dick head pulled his ratty old Blazer over to the draw and it took 4 big strapping men to load that deer in the truck. This buck had to go way over 400 pounds. His sides and neck quivered with accumulated fat. A massive 12 point rack adorned his head. Did I help load it? Fuck no. Later when we were pushing the river banks, dick head shot a small buck at the bottom of a twenty foot high bank. He wanted to borrow a knife and wanted me to help pull the deer up the bank. I told him to pound sand. Was that nice? No. Was it the right thing to do? Seems like it. Did it feel good? Bet yer ass it did.
Just to clue you in to the vagaries of the weather in these parts, the weekend in the story was about 50 degrees and rainy. We came back next weekend and hunted that same section and it was -7 degrees and the snow came up to my knees. Yes, it was bitterly cold. To cap that weekend, I had brought my wife and my buddy brought his too. We left them in the Bronco parked on the road at the south end of the section. My wife had smuggled a bottle of Hot Damn cinnamon schnapps with her. When me and my friend finally made it back to the truck, the radio was playing loudly and the girls were hammered. Seems they were partying while the two of us were struggling across a frozen wasteland and freezing our asses off.

Are We Better Off?
That seems to be the question of late. Are we better off or are you better off? When you can't tell one party from the other, when the party out of power selects as their candidate one who's views are similar to those of the one sitting in the oval office you get no change at all. Same horse different color. The end result is the same, more taxes, more laws, more lies, more regulation, less freedom. And that is the basis of our original foundling nation, more freedom. By putting an Obama clone i.e. Romney in office it will not get better. So, back to the question are we better off than we were 4 years ago? These 40 points make the case that no, we are not better off. And if the populace doesn't take the reins and place a third party in office we will see no effective change of any sort. Until we start placing alternate party candidates in local and state offices there will never be change. And that's when the last option for change comes about. And I have the feeling we are at the tipping point now.
1 During the time Barack Obama has been in the White House, median household income has fallen by 7.3 percent.
#2 Back in 2007, 19.2 percent of all American families had a net worth of zero or less than zero. By 2010, that figure had soared to 32.5 percent.
#3 According to the Federal Reserve, the median net worth of American families dropped "from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010".
#4 According to the Pew Research Center, 61 percent of all Americans were "middle income" back in 1971. Today, only 51 percent of all Americans are "middle income".
#5 Back in 1970, middle income Americans brought home 62 percent of all income in the United States. In 2010, middle income Americans only brought home 45 percent of all income.
#6 The unemployment rate in the United States has been above 8 percent for 42 straight months.
#7 The percentage of working age Americans with a job has been below 59 percent for 35 months in a row.
#8 In June, the number of Americans added to the food stamp rolls was nearly three times larger than the number of jobs added to the U.S. economy.
#9 Approximately 53 percent of all U.S. college graduates under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed last year.
#10 Since Barack Obama entered the White House, the number of long-term unemployed Americans has risen from 2.7 million to 5.2 million.
#11 Today, the average duration of unemployment in the United States is about three times as long as it was back in the year 2000.
#12 According to a report that has just been released by the National Employment Law Project, 58 percent of the jobs that have been created since the end of the recession have been low paying jobs.
#13 According to the Center for Economic and Policy Research, only 24.6 percent of all of the jobs in the United States are "good jobs".
#14 In 2010, the number of jobs created at new businesses in the United States was less than half of what it was back in the year 2000.
#15 The average pay for self-employed Americans fell by $3,721 between 2006 and 2010.
#16 According to U.S. Representative Betty Sutton, America has lost an average of 15 manufacturing facilities a day over the last 10 years. During 2010 it got even worse. That year, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day shut down in the United States.
#17 At this point, one out of every four American workers has a job that pays $10 an hour or less.
#18 While Barack Obama has been president the velocity of money has plunged to a post-World War II low.
#19 According to one recent survey, 85 percent of middle class Americans say that it is harder to maintain a middle class standard of living today compared with 10 years ago.
#20 Electricity bills in the United States have risen faster than the overall rate of inflation for five years in a row.
#21 There are now 20.2 million Americans that spend more than half of their incomes on housing. That represents a 46 percent increase from 2001.
#22 Over the past decade, health insurance premiums have risen three times faster than wages have in the United States.
#23 Health insurance costs have risen by 23 percent since Barack Obama became president.
#24 As I wrote about yesterday, back in 1980 less than 10 percent of U.S. GDP was spent on health care but now about 18 percent of U.S. GDP goes toward health care.
#25 In a previous article, I noted that 62 percent of all middle class Americans say that they have had to reduce household spending over the past year.
#26 Family budgets in America are being stretched to the breaking point. Today, 77 percent of all Americans live paycheck to paycheck at least part of the time.
#27 While Barack Obama has been president, U.S. home values have fallen by another 11 percent.
#28 More than three times as many new homes were sold in the United States in 2005 as will be sold in 2012.
#29 The United States was once ranked #1 in the world in GDP per capita. Today we have slipped to #11.
#30 Since Barack Obama became president, the number of Americans living in poverty has risen by 6.4 million.
#31 The number of Americans on food stamps has grown from about 17 million in the year 2000 to 31.9 million when Barack Obama entered the White House to 46.7 million today.
#32 Approximately one-fourth of all U.S. children are enrolled in the food stamp program at this point.
#33 It is being projected that half of all American children will be on food stamps at least once before they turn 18 years of age.
#34 It is estimated that child homelessness in the United States has risen by 33 percent since 2007.
#35 Back in 1965, only one out of every 50 Americans was on Medicaid. Today, approximately one out of every 6 Americans is on Medicaid.
#36 As I wrote about the other day, it is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.
#37 It is being projected that the number of Americans on Medicare will grow from 50.7 million in 2012 to 73.2 million in 2025.
#38 The number of Americans receiving federal housing assistance increased by a whopping 42 percent between 2006 and 2010.
#39 At this point, well over 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government.
#40 Amazingly, more than half of all Americans are now at least partially financially dependent on the government.
As you can see, the case is made that no, we really are not better off. And by getting off a red horse and mounting a blue horse there will be no noticible change.
I found the link to this this over at Rawles place.

We Got Out Among "Em
Last night Cherry and I ventured out into the night life in our burg. We have a nice barbeque joint here known as the Wabash and they have a large beer garden complete with stage. Once a month they have a concert in the "Blues Garden". They call this their summer concert series. They do get some good bands to to play at this venue. Last night, the last of this series, a group called The Selle's Brother Band with Toni Rae were performing. This group used to open frequently for Eddie Money. As a matter of fact, Money drummer cum guitar player is performing with them now. Their music ranged from several Jerry Lee Lewis songs to Haggard's "Okee From Muskogee" which they rocked up a little to Gretchen Wilson's "I'm Here For The Party" to some Hispanic influence party music to a great rendition of Jefferson Airplanes "White Rabbit". Concerning the "White Rabbit" song. The lead singer Toni Rae owned that song last night. She had the tonation and inflection of the original singer and by that time of the evening she had her voice warmed up. Of all the songs they sang and the fun they had on stage, "White Rabbit" and "I'm Here For The Party" seemed to be her best songs. During one number Toni started playing her Bongos and the drummer/guitarist started drumming them then it all segued to a long drum solo by the actual drummer. Here are a few words from a production company and a sample of Selle Brother work. We finally got out of the house and had a good time, I got to do a little drinking and Cherry got to do a lot of visiting and we got to listen and watch a truly talented band who seems to enjoy what they do. Next summer I vow to take in more of these shows which are FREE aside from food and drink.

Wow, Look At Them Ti.......
I'm sitting here watching Jay Lenno, his guest is blogger Meghan McCain who covered the Repugnican Convention. She is vely goo rooking. And she has a set of tits you wouldn't believe. I mean WOW! Blonde, intelligent, good looking and built.Where do these smoking hot conservative women come from. Do we have a secret state that grows these delights to the eye and soul? If we do I wanna to move there. And yes, I know who she is.
The Darker Side
I have a janitorial position cleaning a public library in the little town I went to high school in. It's a nice newer library, lotsa computers, areas for little kids, areas for teenagers to hang out in and plenty of table for studying, if kids do that now.
This cleaning gig has shown me the darker, nastier side of life. In the public men's room someone is pissing on the floor. Every Day. This is not the splatter or trickles common to men and boys. This is a semi dried puddle of piss. Every day one or two people have explosive diarrhea. Every Day. Shit splattered on the underside of the seat, shit smeared on the ring. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Then we come to the chewers, the dippers, the lip fillers. One enterprising dipper is going into the men's room and raising the lid of the trash can, pulling the liner aside and spitting in the can itself. Reeks horribly. That leaves the individuals that leave a "loaf" in the commode. Evidently they have a really good book to get to and can't remember to flush their leavings away. I have been amazed at the lack manners and hygiene displayed in this library. That brings us to this evenings trick. In the ladies room someone had pumped a little soap on the floor. The soap had spread out and dried, becoming mostly invisible. That is until my mop hit the soap and then it exploded in to suds that took forever to get cleaned up. Then I had to go to the janitors closet and wash the mop out, wash the bucket out and make a new batch of floor cleaner. And I'm the lucky one to deal with it all. At least I have a job. Finally.

For The Love Of Biscuit
I don't know if any one has noticed but I like to cook and do a lot of it. For years I have tried to make good southern style biscuits with no luck. After many attempts and recipes, I finally have it down, all it took was one episode of Alton Browns show. Man, good biscuits! If I use buttermilk, which is proper for a true southern biscuit, they are tangy and chewy but not hard. And they don't fall apart either. They rise to about 2 or 2 and a half inches and are great for making a sandwich too. I substitute regular milk if I don't have buttermilk and they come out just fine. I don't even have to put anything on them. Just grab a biscuit and a glass of milk or in my case, water, and eat it. Good stuff. For a real treat I cover them with some spicy sausage gravy they are even better. As a matter of fact you can't hardly beat a breakfast of homemade biscuits and gravy. For those of you who are biscuitly challenged, I'll post the recipe here.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons shortening
1 cup buttermilk or milk of your choice
In a large bowel combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Using you hands cut in the butter and shortening until the mix looks like small crumbs. Do this quickly so the fat doesn't melt and goo up the mix. Make a well in the center and add the cup of milk.
Stir enough to bring it together into a sticky dough. Turn the dough out on a floured surface and dust the top with flour. Do not knead the dough but fold it 5-6 times. pat the dough into a one inch thick "pattie" and using your biscuit cutter of choice cut out the biscuits and place them on the baking sheet or stone. Put in the oven for 15-20 minutes until tall and golden on top.
Using an "on the rocks" glass I only get 5 out of this mix and one of them is a put together Frankenstein. But they are of a pretty good size too.
A big slab of sausage and an egg on one of these is a taste of heaven!
I think I'll make a batch and take 'em to work Saturday. A bottle of honey, and a couple different preserves sound pretty good.

Welcome To The Show
Yesterday a young man came into the pawn shop I work at and wanted to trade a Benelli Nova shot gun for a pistol. He first looked at the Beretta 92. He looked it over, pulled the magazine out, locked the slide back, dropped the slide release and then the show started. He thrust his arms out to full extension, drew his left leg back as if expecting some huge recoil, hunched his shoulders up and squinted down the barrel all with his finger on the trigger. What a sight! He then asked to see a Smith and Wesson M&P. Same drill, pull, drop, thrust, draw, hunch, squint and..boogerhook on the bang switch. It was all I could do to keep a straight face! I did ask him twice to keep his finger off the trigger. In the end he sold us the shotgun took the cash and started shopping, not for a gun but silver and electronics. He ended up walking out with a silver eagle and a little less cash for the planned gun purchase in his future. I hope he get it from us. I could use the entertainment.

Chair, What Chair?
Yesterday I was going to participate in a meme going around the interwebs. It involved placing an empty chair, ala Clint Eastwood, in your front yard then taking a picture of said chair and then, you guessed it, post it on line. Well, I got the damn chair in the yard, made a sign that said "gone golfing" and forgot to bring my camera out with me. By the time I got back in the house, something else grabbed my attention and I never once thought about the camera/chair again. That is until a rather boisterous thunderstorm moved in later in the evening and I ran out to check the windows on truck. Hey look, there's a chair in my front f'n yard! Windows good, chair moved inside, me back to my book. No chair pic on the interweb. Other than that I got nuthing for now. Later maybe. Just maybe. Just.

Holiday MILFS
I know it's a holiday, but the MILFS are coming out anyway. I saw quite a few of them yesterday in my wanderings. Actual, in the flesh, live, MILFS! Here's some that are digital. Have a great holiday!

It's A Bad Place
Working at the pawn shop is pretty cool. I see a lot of interesting things come through the doors. The bad thing is how desperate these people are. "Can I get just 3 or 4 dollars for this so I can get a little gas" or "I need 100 to buy food for my kids". We hear it all. "Will you give me 50 bucks for my weed eater that doesn't work?" Yes, they ask that. This may end up being bad for me. There are some interesting guns coming in for either direct sale or pawn. Today we took in pawn a very nice pre 1963 (no serial number) Savage model 24 22/410 over and under. Really nice shape too. At the same time we took in pawn a sweet Ithaca Lever action 22 that was also made before serial numbers were required. Last week we bought a benchrest rifle made on a M-12 .22LR action. It has a heavy barrel and a laminated bench rest stock and is topped with, I believe, a 20 power Tasco scope.Today we placed for sale a Henry lever action rifle. It has the slickest action of any lever gun I've ever held. So, you can see I get tempted every day. We have for sale a very cool Kahr compact 9mm as well as the 40 caliber version. Slim, sexy and just right for concealed carry in the summer, i.e. pocket size, these are sweet. I don't know anything about this gun, but it is also cool, a Taurus compact double stack .45. Yes, I am tempted every day.
