Rejected! Who woulda thought?

Well, I guess the Asian trip didn't work out so well for The Chosen One. The assemblage rejected his speeches, his theories and ideology. Back at home, it seems that his democratic foundation is crumbling. And many Dems are calling for him to not run in 2012. Was this not expected? This guy has been like a falling star, coming from nowhere, shining brightly and dimming quickly. I can only sit back and enjoy the warm after glow, the glow given off by the thousands of bloggers and right wing commentators that struck it right from the first hour of his electoral run. All saying this person had no experience, talent or even the right to be President of the United States. We just saw a tidal wave of anger wash over the latest election. Sweeping out many Democratic incumbents and challengers and delivering a bunch of Conservative and Republican new comers. Now the trick will be to get those newly elected persons to hold true to the Constitution and start getting this country back were it came from, a land of limited government with defined limits to the governments powers. We just have to keep reminding them.

Veterens Day via the Gunslingers

My son sent this cool picture. I thought I would post it on Veterens Day.

Changes and a smart little Ranger

Have you ever had a plan then, that plan changes course? That how my life has been going lately. Fer instance, we had picked out a really nice slate to tile the kitchen with. It's been sitting in the family room for two months waiting it's turn. I'm all prepped to install the stuff when Cherry Pie says she doesn't like it, it detracts from the back splash that she wants as the focal point, it doesn't match the cabinets, blah, blah, blah. Next example, I'm working on this small apartment that I am going to manage. The owner shows up with cash and is willing to help. I'm working on a bathroom. He wants to make the place nice as possible but on the cheap. Later that night one of the neighbors comes over, drunk. And makes suggestions as to the bathroom. All valid points but, it added 300 bucks to the budget and set us hours behind with a carpet crew breathing down my neck. Moving on, I got a call from a friend, asking if I had a job yet as his little office had an opening for a seasonal employee. 2 months work. I'll take it. I filled out the application they gave me and submitted it. I started work two day later. Midday I was told they had given me the wrong application so technically I wasn't hired yet. So I filled out the new app and went home to wait. Now, here comes the good part of change, this morning I got a call from the HR director of the home office. He is the past HR director from one of my previous employers. They have a full time position available, would I be interested? Hell, yeah I'm interested. I sped a resume to him and sit here, fingers crossed, wondering, is this the one?
________________________________

I finally got the Ranger .22 rifle done. I gotta say, it sure came out nice, probably nice than it ever was as new. The owner was flabbergasted. The stock is smooth as a freshly shaven... well never mind, it's really smooth. All the steel is re-blued including all the bits and pieces and the screws. A new rear sight elevator and this little jewel is back in shooting trim.

Those poor, poor French.

Have any of you been paying attention to the bullshit going on in France? The government is going broke and one of their proposed austerity measures is to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62. Upon the release of this info the country went, well the French went double dipped batshit. Riots, destruction and violence over a proposed 2 freakin years. We in the good old hardworking US have to wait 'til 65 or 70 to actually retire then most of us still have to augment the retirement income with a job at McD's or Wally World. Come to thnk of it, don't the French work, like, 6 hours a day? And get a buttload of vaction time on top of that? So over two years they're working what, 49 hours? What's going to happen now that the proposal became law? The French, great wine, great food but leaving a lot to desire in the grown up department. Hey, here's an idea, ask the good old hard working US to come in and straighten things out. Again.

Juniper and Stuff

As I've been working on Juniper House I have been saving all the busted copper lines we had to remove. Water lines, drain lines, heating lines, those kinda lines. Any way, I took all of it to the recycle center in KC this morning. After weighing the #1 and #2 copper and the brass, they cut me a check for over 500 bucks! What a bonus! This will all get converted to building materials for Juniper. This is great as I am off the government tit and still can't find a job. A job recruiter found my resume on careerbuilder.com and called me about a position they are trying to fill. We'll see how this shakes out.

Fall is rushing in but the trees aren't going to be much of a show this year. We have been running about 6 inches over on precipitation this year but when fall approached the rain stopped. So, the trees started losing leaves before they actually turned colors.
___________________________

In regards to the Juniper House, I got the gas line ran to the kitchen and the back splash grouted. I also got the basement lay out finalized for all of our storage so we can maximize the space in this area. I'll be turning this space into the home convenience store so to speak. We still plan on moving in when we get the kitchen, master bedroom and master bath done and we are getting closer every day. The way things have been going though, we will also have the home office, the guest bedroom and the walk in closet finished.
____________________________

What have you done to increase your preparedness? We took a shopping trip and bought 5 flats of canned vegetables and an assortment of of other foods and expendables to place in storage. Until I get a real steady paying job this will probably be our last prep purchase for a while.

Mower Woes.

It seems I can't win for losin'. I was working on my two lawn tractors Saturday. By Sunday I had lost the keys. To both of 'em. $@#%$#^%$^%76!!! So I found, courtesy of my father-in-law, a key to fit the Wheel Horse. Now I'm workin' on finding a key to fit the after market ignition in the Cub Cadet. So all keyed up , so to say, I rode the Wheel Horse over to the other house to get caught up on mowing the back slope. Putt, putt, putt over with no problems other than a tire called it quits. Today I aired the tire up, adjusted the belt and started mowing. For about 60 feet. Then the mower drive belt twisted itself and I lost power to the deck. After 3 times of fixin' the dang belt, I said, well never mind what I said. It was then I realised the bad tire was flat again. Any way I'm now looking for a new mower drive belt. And back tires. See how life just keeps biting me right in the ass?

Over? I Don't Think So.

I've had a little time this morning to do some reading and I found some interesting things. Most of them contradict the governments official mantra of it's getting better, it's getting better.
I have read and heard on the TV that a group has determined that the recession ended in 2009. WTF? Ended? What are they smoking? From my perspective the recession continues. The dollar continues to lose its value, worth and desirability. Countries around the world are dumping their dollar holdings and switching to gold or Euros (for some stupid reason) and some want to to create a "global currency". Here are some links to various articles that paint a very different picture as to the health of the US and it's failing economy.
They've been caught doing this before, The Fed is thinking of buying more bonds. This is interesting as the bonds they are buying are their own! They do it to manipulate the interest rate.
Most folks realize that when the dollar drops, gold prices increase. If you've been paying attention to the gold market for the last year, gold has steadily risen in price. On September 21 gold was pushing the 1300 dollars an ounce range. Add up the two previous sums and you get this.
There are various claims as to the total of the governments debt. But it generally falls in the multiple TRILLION dollar range. Yes, that's right, TRILLIONS. Now we find that the US is hiding debt. Lots of it. I'm talking a final number of somewhere between 60 and 200 TRILLION!
That brings us to this winderful little nugget. Get out your fingers and count up how many friends, family and aquaintences are out of work or underemployed. I generally come up with 50 percent. I know its better or worse depending on you location but here in Missouri the state percentage is running 9-11 percent but I still get a 40-50 percent range among my immediate circle.

What I've been doing or Why I haven't been posting

Wow! have I been busy! The owner of the little apartment building that I am going to manage lives in Kalifornia. He has been flying out, on what seems like, an every other week schedule. He spends 3-5 days here and wings it back to Kali. It's been very interesting talking to this man. He was born and bred in San Fran Cisco. He is amazed that, here in Missouri, marijuana is ....ILLEGAL. He says they have pot stores and pot shows in Frisco. I told him if someone had a pot show in Mo. the biggest attendees would be local and county cops, the State Patrol, DEA, ATF and some other alphabet soup agencies. He is also shocked that in this part of the state we don't have smog inspections for our cars. This was a half hour discussion. He could not believe we don't do tail pipe inspections.
The main reason the owner comes out is so we can rehab his building. Nearly 4 years ago he put 50 grand in this apartment building. You cannot tell it today. The low class "renters" his last "manager" let stay there just destroyed the place. That was in addition to not paying rent. So the majority of his 50 large is gone as well as over 20 grand in unpaid rents. He is self employed in Kali and his business is really down due to a major drop in business travel to his town. Basically he is busted. So he puts some stuff on a credit card, we work on the building, he goes home and tries to pay off the card, then he comes back again. Repeat as needed. It's slow going but we are making progress.
When I'm not working on the old apartment I'm working on my other house or mowing or working on a gun or cleaning house or working on the Harley or helping someone or any other thing that comes up. For instance, this weekend a friend is having a family reunion at her house. I'm doing the cooking for this event. She wants me to smoke a few pork butts and make pulled pork. She hasn't decided on the side dishes yet. Then I'm working on the apartment again for another week, more mowing on Wednesday and then more mowing on Monday. I have a total of 4 places to mow, 2 of mine, one neighbor and the apartment. Time and lack of funds has kept me from doing any shooting or working on our preps. The other house is pretty much eating up most of our income. One day soon though we will be living there and can sell this one. At that point we will be debt free. Then the fun begins.

Quitchyerbitchin' and some progress

Damn! I've been sanding drywall this morning and it's killin' my shoulders. Flat out sucks! Put it on, take it off. Repeat as needed. Back in the 80's I dislocated my right shoulder in a major fight. Then add in the years running jackhammers, sledgehammers and shovels, weight lifting and miscellaneous drunken sports such as full contact wiffle ball and you get a fucked up body. Well now all I have left to do today is mow 2 yards. I should say I'm only doing two today. Rain is coming in and I have to get my primary yard done and that of the paying customer. I usually have 4 to do on Monday. Any way I'm already beat and I'm not done yet. OK enough of the bitchin.
_______________________________

I planted a few tomato plants this year and I have been getting 1-3 ripe ones every day. Now I'm waiting on the next round of little ones to grow up and keep me in 'maters for a while longer.
I bought a bunch of habenaro's at the farmers market. I'll use them to make up another batch of my honey habenaro sauce. Pretty good stuff. I even bought those little bottles (they call them woozies) to put it in.

I dipped into my stash this morning and ordered a 6 speed tranny for the Harley. A buddy of mine has a shop and told me he'd sell it to me at cost. One of his vendors had an Ultima polished 6 speed for 599. It should be in tomorrow. Now I just need to rebuild the motor.

I got the stock for the Ranger .22 sanded and stained. I'm of two minds as to how it came out. It is birch and birch stocks are notorious for taking stain in some strange patterns. This one came out with some broad tiger stripping on one side. In the light it almost glows around the edges of the dark bands. We'll see what the neighbor thinks. I receive the Oxpho blue from the Brown Truck Of Joy yesterday. So this project is coming together. It ought be pretty nice for a freebie.

I'm back again!

I've had a lot of crap going on lately. My brother came back from Kalifornia and I helped pack up his house for moving. That was most of a week. Then the following week I had a week long sale to get rid of the stuff he left behind. That didn't work out very well. Then the owner of the apartment I am going to manage flew in from Kalifornia and he and I worked on cleaning up the mess that the last pigs, sorry, I mean tenants left behind. Filthy, filthy animals. Based on what I have learned from this particular adventure I will never rent property to anyone. So any way, there are three weeks that I have lost in working on the Juniper property. Add into the mix the 4 properties that I have to mow every week, the p.o.s Caddilac that needed repair every time we turned around, a funeral and the general intrusions of life that affect us all and I have not had much time for anything at all. After having the opportunity to spend a grand on the Caddi in a two week period we chose, instead, to trade it in. Cherry Pie ended up with an '09 Chevrolet HHR. We got a great buy on a low mileage car with the remainder of the factory warranty left. So far it seems like we got the better end of the deal. The HHR has every single thing the Caddi had with the exception of 400+ horsepower, leather interior and some shoulder room.
For relaxation I have been working on the neighbors Ranger .22. I spent 4 hours one evening filing the barrel until it was free of pits and the file marks from a previous attempt at dressing it up. I then spent 3 hours the next night polishing the barrel , by hand, to a 360 grit. I also managed to fit the steel butt plate to the stock and straighten out the lines of the butt. I've ordered a new bottle of Oxpho Blue from Brownells to finish the barreled action and the little bits and pieces.
I even managed to squeeze in a little mudding and sanding over at Juniper or as Cherry calls it, Jupiter.
_____________________________________

A few weeks ago I went to a local estate sale and found, in a pile of crappy knives, a real gem. It is a Cold Steel Voyager X2 folding knife. Talk about a large size pocket knife! Thirteen inches of knife that fits in your pocket. 13! I had to remove the paint someone had applied to the blade and do a general clean up of the knife as well as polish the blade. This is an 80 dollar knife in most places. I got it for the amazing price of 3 dollars. After applying the Lansky to it, it is now razor sharp.
_____________________________________
I have to confess, In addition to all the stuff that's been going on, I have been a little out of sorts. I have realized that November will be 2 years of unemployment. 2 freakin' years. I have applied for everything from custodian to project manager and have gotten nothing. Zip. Nada. The apartment gig is very questionable. I only get paid when there is actual income from the renters and we just gave all of them the boot due to lack of payment of rents. And the owner is also unemployed and can't pay me for the work I just did. He did come up with some bucks to compensate me for past unpaid work. The place needs some work and the owner wants more work done to attract better tenants but I have a hard time working on a credit basis. I think my mom would call that a hope and a prayer. So Cherry and I have been racking our brains to come up with some cash making venture for me to engage in. If we can get the Juniper house done and sell the Kimball house we will have no debt other than the HHR. But those are two large things that have to happen quickly.

It's Been A While

It's been a while since I put anything up here. Longer than I ever wanted to go with out putting something, anything up. What's going on? Life. That's what's going on. I've been working on the repo house we bought, mowing all the grass at 3 houses, and trying to hold my head high after a year and eight months with out any gainful employment. I believe I have well over 200 resumes floating around with the polite rely of "no thanks" from only 3 of them, the rest are mum on the subject of employment. I keep hearing the jobs situation is getting better but have yet to see anything resembling that statement. I have several income producing ideas that I want to implement but they all require an up front injection of cash. So I'll keep working on the house, mowing grass, getting the curent house ready to sell and keep my fingers crossed.

______________________________________

Things I'm working on.

Repo House known from this day forth as Juniper House

Current House known from this day forth as Kimball House

My Harley, the motor needs rebuilt and the tranny needs replaced

A Ranger model 103-2 .22 rifle

My M1A pistol grip stock

2 lawn mowers so I can keep the grass mowed

So even though I don't have a job per se, I do have things to do.

Now for the meat.

I found this over at Drudges place. The Health Care Bill has a slimy little secret added to it, now all small businesses and self employed will be required to submit a 1099 form listing all goods and services they aquire over 600 dollars. This is so the gatekeepers of the healthcare bill, the IRS can tap into a previously unknown resource. These bastards won't be happy until they have taxed every business out of existence.

Are you a menber of an HOA (home owners association)? Keep up on your association dues! I have never liked HOA's and now I like them less over this. Evidently if you fall behind on your dues they have the ability and the desire to foreclose on your home! And they will do it faster than a bank will. So if your are letting the dues slide by to satisfy the mortgage, the HOA assholes will slip up behind you and take your home.

Related to my intro, take a look at this graph. I think it's wrong though. I have been off for 20 months and I know a bunch of folks that have been off way longer than the 25 weeks shown on this graph. In Missouri they have 5 tiers of unemployment. Not any longer, 3, 4, and 5 have been discontinued. There are only 2 tiers until the State can get a federal cash infusion. As a result of this everyone in MO that's on tier two is on their last financial leg until the funds are boosted or they/we can find a job.

Obama The Great Job Killer

What more can I say?

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Barack Obama: The great jobs killer
WAYNE ALLYN ROOT
MORE COLUMNS
"As former President Ronald Reagan might have said, "Obama, there you go again."
The current occupant of the White House claims to know how to create jobs. He claims jobs have been created. But so far the score is Great Obama Depression 2.2 million lost jobs, Obama 0 -- a blowout.

Obama is as hopeless, helpless, clueless and bankrupt of good ideas as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in late September. This "community organizer" knows as much about private-sector jobs as Pamela Anderson knows about nuclear physics.
It's time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes -- rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners -- Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI's Most Wanted List.
Meanwhile, he has kept the union workers of GM and Chrysler employed (with taxpayer money). He has made sure that most government employee union members got their annual raises for sleeping on the job (with taxpayer money). He made sure that his voters got handouts mislabeled as "tax cuts" even though they never paid taxes (with taxpayer money). And he made sure that major campaign contributors collected billions off government stimulus (with taxpayer money).
As far as the taxpayers -- the people who actually take risks with our own money to create small businesses and jobs and pay most of the taxes -- we require protection under the Endangered Species Act.
You won't find proof of the damage Obama is doing on Wall Street, but rather on Main Street. My friends are all part of the economic engine of America: Small business. Small business creates 75 percent of new jobs (and a majority of all jobs). I called one friend who was a wealthy restaurant owner. He says business is off by 60 percent. He's drowning in debt. He won't last much longer. His wealth is gone.
I called another friend in the business of home improvement. He says business is off 90 percent from two years ago. My contractor just filed personal bankruptcy. She won't be building any more homes. The hair salon where I've had my hair cut for years closed earlier this year. Bankrupt. But here's the clincher -- ESPN Zone just closed all their restaurants across the country. If they can't make it selling cheap food and overpriced beer with 100 big screens blaring every sporting event on the planet to a sports-crazed society, we are all in deep, deep trouble.
I've polled all my friends who own small businesses -- many of them in the Internet and high-tech fields. They all agree that in this new Obama world of high business taxes, income taxes, payroll taxes, capital gains taxes, and workers compensation taxes, the key to success is to avoid employees. The only way to survive as a business owner today is by keeping the payroll very low and by hiring only independent contractors or part-time employees provided by temp agencies.
The days of jobs in the private sector with big salaries, full benefits, and pensions are over. We've all seen where those kinds of jobs get you as a business owner -- in Bankruptcy Court or surviving on government welfare like GM and Chrysler. Or in the case of government itself -- completely insolvent, but surviving by ripping off taxpayers and fraudulently running printing presses at the Fed all day and night to print money by the trillions.
Unfortunately, small businesses don't have the power to impose taxes or print money. So unlike government, we'll just have to cut employees and run lean and mean.
It has now become clear that, outside of the burgeoning field of Census takers, there will be no major increase in new jobs for years to come. Outside government, Obama has created a wasteland of economic ruin and depression that looks much like the landscape of Mel Gibson's first movie "Mad Max." Without a printing press in Obama's world, you're just plain out of luck.
The days of believing the Obama propaganda about a jobs recovery are over. The trillion-dollar corporate handouts (neatly named "stimulus") may have kept big business in the money for the past 18 months, and artificially propped up the stock market, but small business is the real canary in the coal mine.
My small business-owning friends aren't creating one job. Not one. They are shedding jobs. They are learning to do more with fewer employees. They are creating high-tech businesses that don't need employees. And many business owners are making plans to leave the country. In a high-tech world where businesses can be run from anywhere, Obama has a problem. His one-trick pony -- raise taxes, raise taxes, raising taxes -- is chasing away the business owners he desperately needs to pay his bills.
So who is going to pay Obama's taxes? Not his voters. They want government to pay them. Who is going to create Obama's jobs? Not his voters -- they've never created a job in their lives.
So what is Obama going to do? Maybe he can get Pamela Anderson on the line."
Wayne Allyn Root, a former vice presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party, writes from Henderson. His column appears every other week.

Chicago Continues With Anti Second Ammendment

After the Supreme Courts recent ruling in McDonald v Chicago case, Chicago wasted no time throwing up roadblocks to the citizens right to keep and bear arms. The city council voted 34-0 to back Daley's plan to limit gun owners to one assembled gun in the house, no shooting ranges in Chi Town, a sharp fee for the carry permit, and requiring the applicant to pass a shooting test. Pass a shooting test with no shooting ranges to practice at? I know Chicago has a smorgasbord of small cities and towns that make up the suburban area and there is probably more than a few ranges to be found in them. But have you ever driven in the Chicago area? The traffic alone is enough to constitute an infringement on gun ownership. Let's see how long it takes for another lawsuit to be file against the Draconian Rulers of Chi Town.

McDonald Response

All us gun owners have surely heard or read of the US Supreme Court ruling in the recent McDonald v Chicago case. In a 5-4 ruling the Court affirmed that the Second amendment has nearly the same treatment as the rest of the rights. So, the Second is just like the First except for all the regulations, permits, fees, bans, lies and a small army of armed enforcers ready to kick your door in at the slightest provocation. Five to four. That means there are four traitorous agents on the Court. They are obviously working against the Constitution so who are the working for?
Chicago has wasted no time getting hard at work after the Supremes decision. This is Chicago's latest interpretation of " shall not infringe". Fees, permits, training, bans and restrictions. Isn't a "restriction" an infringement? Aren't fees infringements? And how do the locals get the required range time when shooting ranges are banned in Chicago? Oh, and you can only keep ONE gun assembled and ready for use in your home. And you garage and porch are not considered part of your home. Can you see the next round of legal challenges coming up?

Random Randomness

I would assume the oil spill is still spillin'. Right? Well, if it is then the Southern coast is well and truly fucked. "Cause that means the oil company has not come up with a plan and the .gov still has no clue, as if it was really any of their business. Unless you have lost your livelihood due to this accident or are in line for a job or in line to provide supplies or services then you really need to pay attention to more of what the government is doing and maybe even use some of the non-tv -viewing time to review your various lists or do an inventory of your supplies or even, say, here's a real neat idea, read a book. Ya know they still print 'em? Read a history of government and see how they all eventually fail when the leaders get visions of grandeur in their heads. You can even read something about how to can food or raise a garden or fix a gun. It's amazing what you can find in an old fashioned book.

We are still working on the second house but we have finally depleted my "retirement" savings. We are now to the point where it nickle and dimes you to death. We have a whole list of things that we want to do as opposed to things we need to do. We have most of the need to to do's done or nearly done. Here is a list of some want to do things:

  • apply security film to the lower window
  • install wrought iron "storm" doors
  • remove the two sliding doors and install regular entry doors in their place
  • replace the fence with heavy duty chain link or even wrought iron

There are a couple of other things we want to do but I'll not be discussing those.

With all the thoughts of wrought iron this and that it brings up a sore point with me. I see ads, quite frequently advertising "rot" iron for sale. What really puts the icing on the cake is when they have "rot" iron for "sell". Crap! Did any of the folks retain any of their, say grade 1-12 education? That one really gets me. For sell. Not TO sell but FOR sell. Maybe those folks could read a book to improve their grammar.

He said what?

Egytian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit claims that, in a one on one conversation with The Chosen One, it was revealed that Obama is a Muslim. Who woulda guessed? What with all the islamohugging going on and all the judeobashing happening and all the christiandenying being tossed around.

No Hawaiian Birth Certificate.

I couldn't pass this up! A past employee of the County of Honolulu says .........there is NO Hawaiian birth certificate for one Barack Hussein Obama. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Kenya is still happy to claim him as a creation of their country i.e. a citizen of Kenya. Complete with birth certificate and road sign. Oh yeah, and his old granny says she was present at his birth in .....Kenya! His wife even says he is a Kenyan man. What more do the courts and the libtards need? The courts, in their infinite wisdom have decreed over and over that Citizens of The United States have no standing to bring forth a lawsuit regarding this issue. No standing? Every freakin' citizen in this country is affected by everything this guy does! How can we have no standing? This usurper has spent nearly a million dollars or maybe more now, to conceal his birth record, his college records, his passport, his scholarly writings and who knows what else. If he is truly a Citizen of The United States, wouldn't it be easier and a hell of a lot cheaper to prove it than to hide it? He has proven over and over he hasn't a clue in his head of how to govern a nation or even appoint knowledgeable people to his various cabinet positions. Yet there a millions of people who still support and back this liar. 'Nuff said.

The Young Shootist

When our only child became mobile he also became fascinated with my guns. Always watching me clean them, work on them and shoot them. When he turned 5 we made a conscious decision to give him a gun for Christmas. A real firearm gun. It was a Chipmunk .22. It was a sweet little thing. Before we gave it to him, I took it down and gave it a real nice linseed oil finish over its walnut stock and then waxed the living hell out of. Talk about shine! When he opened that present on Christmas morning, the look on his face was unforgettable. We included a hard case for it that would hold the diminutive rifle as well as eye and ear protection and a few boxes of ammo. I had taken the time to cut out the foam to custom fit all the items. This led to a youth full of practice, lessons, hunting, shooting and responsibility. When he became old enough to walk a full day with me in the field, he carried an empty gun for a whole season. The next season he could only load the gun when we encountered a sitting rabbit. The next season he could carry a fully loaded gun. By the time he graduated from high school he had several deer to his credit with one nice buck hanging on the wall. By the age of nine he was shooting my .40 caliber Star FireStar. Today he is in the Navy, married to a Navy woman and is still interested in firearms and shooting. As soon as he became of age he acquired his CCW and we gave him a Glock 36 in .45 acp. With out time or a place to hunt near his duty station he has gravitated to handguns. He does have a pistol caliber carbine as well as the other guns we gave him while growing up. It is just easier to shoot the handguns with a range just down the street from him. If my economic situation improves, I plan on gifting him a couple of nice firearms. And it is well known that when it's time for me to go to that shooting range in the sky, he is to take possession of my collection. With the exception of a few stolen ones and one trade for others, I have every gun I was given or bought since I was 12. He should make out all right indeed.

Seized Up

Yesterday, I'm working away at the plumbing in the new house, happy as a pig in mud. I had to make several trips up stairs, not as many as normal but still a few. By the time I left around 3:00 my junk knee was really acting up. By the time I got home I had to walk in a really strange way. Either I could twist my foot inward and walk stiff legged or I could do the high step with the bad leg. Both of those allowed me to move around the place pretty well. I looked like a moron in both cases and it was a pain in the ass but let me get around OK. I ate dinner and then sat on the lawn tractor and mowed the grass. Went to bed and this morning, no moronic gait, no hobbling around(no more than usual anyway), no sideassed limping. What ever was out of place evidently went back into place. Any one got 60 or seventy grand laying around available for loan? I under stand that's the going rate for a cash payment knee replacement.

No change in profession.

Now I'm a plumber. Who knows what I'll be next week. Oh yeah, a flooring specialist.

As someone who has been out of work for a year and a half I found this very interesting. WTF? I know employers are free to hire whoever they want but to disqualify everyone who is currently unemployed makes no sense to me. Nearly everyone I know that is unemployed is unemployed involuntarily. As in through no fault of their own. My employer of 20 years made me Employee Of The Year for 2005 and persona non grata in spring of 2006. Nothing changed, I was still doing my job and doing it well. My theory is that my previous rate of pay increases and bonuses put me out of the acceptable pay range for a lout with no college education. I actually saw my new boss choke when she saw my pay rate during my last employee evaluation. Two months later I'm on my ass. I took me 9 months to get a job after that. That new job lasted 10 months before I moved on to what I thought was going to be a great job(if things get better I would go back to work for them in a heartbeat). The employer was going to open an office in KC and I would sell and run jobs from that office. Then came the great collapse of 2008 followed by the greater collapse of 2009. The new office never became. I then had no job again and it continues today. I/we have several ideas for self employment. All of them will require money we don't have at this time.

Bring on the Cool!

We got the air conditioning running in the new house this morning. It's been installed for a while and we had the furnace portion working this winter but we had not ran the electrical to the compressor unit. I got the disconnect installed and the conduit and such in and my retired electrician father in law did the wiring. This would have been nice LAST week when working in the master bath in temps up to 110. The attic temps were near 125. A little cooling would have been nice then. We just keep moving on a little at a time. It appears like we will be moving during the month of July. That's when the work really begins.
That's all for now.

All the goin' ons

Well, it's been a busy week. What with painting, counter top installation, shower building, sheetrocking, mowing, buying and insulating I have been a very busy man indeed.

We are going to pay the insurance company what they are asking for the returned pistol. It's turning out to be a pretty good deal. I finally did a good comparison to the color prints in the Blue Book of Gun Values and it seems to be a solid 90-95 percent gun.

I don't pay much attention to the news any more. It's all about spilled oil and an ineffective response to it or job loss records. So I know all I need to know at this time. When the news outlets actually do some REAL investigative reporting about real issues then I'll pay more attention to them. By real I mean, oh, say a true and definitive investigation into the actual birth place of Barry Sotero or maybe why Barry has spent so many millions hiding his school records as well as his birth certificate. This is getting to be a habit with this guy, I read that his pseudo administration is considering concealing the papers of the latest SCOTUS candidate, Kagen. So, when the news outlets start doing real news type work I'll start paying more attention to them. Or FOX gets their female anchors back in short skirts. Which ever comes first.

For now, over and out. I leave you with this......

Cool, eh?

The Prodigal Gun Returns

Back in 2003 our home was broken into and when the tally was completed I had several guns and many switchblade knives missing. I know no safe, yadad yada yada..... Any way, the local PD couldn't lift any of the clearly visible fingerprints from many of the articles the thieves chose to carry around and bang on other things. The best they could do for us was to tell us file an insurance claim. Really? My insurance agent wife and I weren't aware of that. Some other things we learned were that there are several known thieves in this area, my step brother, kind soul that he is, claimed to know one of the asshats in question but wouldn't give him up, and once stolen it's highly unlikely that you will ever see any of your stuff again. This type of crime occurred to two other home owners that I am aware of in a very short time. The other two lived in the next county in a rural area. One of the guys has a son that my son ran around with occasionally. This particular Dad found information that that said one of his neighbor kids had done his break in. Dad trots his angry self down the road and calls the kid out and soundly thrashes him. Parent of miscreant kid appears and is understandably mad as hell. Until he hears the story of the theft. The kid gave up the information that he and a couple other young men were in good ole KC at a pool hall where a couple of Latino gang banger were. The gang bangers took this one kid outside and roughed him up, took his drivers license and told him to steal guns from his neighbors and give them to the gang or they would come to his house and kill everyone there. Is that what happened in my case? Who the fuck knows. The point here is that Thursday the police called my house and left a message for us to contact them. We did. The parties we were to speak with were not available. Friday we did make contact with the right officer and lo and behold I was told to come to the station to reclaim some of my stolen property. What I found in the box was the Ruger Single Six that was stolen from me. The best part is that is looked like it had never left my house. Other than needing a good cleaning it was damaged in no way. It's still an early model flat top Single Six without the late model conversion in a solid 95-98 percent condition. Evidently the Kansas City police had it in their possession since.....2003! It was used in a robbery, collected as evidence and has been in the evidence locker since 3 months after the gun was stolen! What I have to do know is buy it back from the insurance company. It seems the cops called the insurance company before they called me. The day I picked the gun up there was message from the insurance company saying some of my property had been reclaimed and they would like to set up a time for someone to come and collect it from me OR make arrangements to receive payment for the item. Man they're fast. They want 397 dollars for it which is what they compensated us with. Fine. I looked it up and it's now worth about 500 dollars.

M14 Stock II. E2 modified.

Today I got pictures of the M14 stock I'm working on. It now appears to be a real E2 stock that has been trimmed up and patched up a little.

Notice the M16 A1 shape to the buttstock as well as the contoured pistol grip. This is a very good feeling stock.

Just above the pistol grip you can see a vertical line and a faint horizontal line. This is where a wooden patch has been installed. The dark blob is a filler of some sort.

In this picture you can see a narrow horizontal line that delineates the front of the patch. You can also see the selector switch plug on the right. Unfortunately the existing patch appears to be something other than birch or walnut. The stock itself appears to be a light colored walnut.
I think when I'm done this will have a DuraCoat finish in a tiger stripe pattern. In my eyes, waayyy cooool. There will be more to come as I get further along.

M14. E2?

Last night I was re-reading my copy of "Bostons Gun Bible" and that got me to thinking. What I thought was, I bought a unique M14 stock at a gun show a few years ago. So I went and dug the thing out and found I had already given it a camo job. So I dug out the M1A and put it in the "new" stock. Damn it looks good! It has the appearance of an M14 E2 stock but without the bulbous buttstock. As purchased it had a thick black coating over the entire stock. Some kind of paint or something. I had smoothed it up and did a camo job over that. The stock has a nicely formed pistol grip and the butt actually resembles an A1 style M16 butt. It's all wood and has all GI metal. When I took it to the shed to start working on a clearance issue with this stock I found that it IS an issue stock as it had a filled selector switch. Then I found that it may be a Frankenstein of sorts unless the E2 stocks were pieced together. The grain of the grip runs vertical and that of the stock runs parallel. And the wood forward of the grip is different from that of the butt/grip. Any way, the previous work had left the rear portion of the upper stock too low to make contact with the back of the receiver. What I'm doing is cutting the low portion of the stock out and will epoxy in a block of birch and make it all fit right. In the end it looks like someone took an E2 stock and trimmed it up nice and neat in the butt area, contoured the pistol grip and morphed it onto the front end of a regular M14 stock. It looks and works so good I would like to try and get a fiberglass version of this made in the future. I'll get photos of the stock posted as it comes along or maybe a complete series in one posting. We'll see what comes.

See What I Mean?

As mentioned earlier, If a few students started an WA Lunch Bunch and went on a whites only field trip, how many kinds of hell would have been raised? But it's apparently OK for the AA Lunch Bunch to go on a blacks only field trip.

Cinco de Mayo? Not For Me,Thanks.

As most people are aware, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated as the Mexican Independence day. Thanks to the efforts of the major breweries and millions of illegal criminal immigrants, it has become a significant holiday in this country. It offers an excuse to skip out of work, school and the responsibilities of life for a day. CDM is not an officially recognised holiday but as with most of the participants, it is an illicit holiday. Lately it has become an excuse for rioting, destruction of property and arson. Now it has become an excuse for authorities to violate the first amendments freedoms of students. Several students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Kalifornia were sent home for, brace yourself, wearing clothing with depictions of......the American Flag on them. On Cinco de Mayo! How could they? The shame! The hypocrisy is what I say. We are forced to put up with millions of illegals every day, we are forced to sift through instruction in multiples of languages, we are forced to press one for English on the telephone, we are disqualified for jobs if we don't speak Spanish, we are forced to tolerate ethic organizations in schools, jobs and government but if any one tries to start up a Caucasian students union or the white congressional caucus, or the white mayors group, we are immediately branded as a racist, a bigot, a hater. Well all I can offer as a remedy is take your minor holiday back to Mexico and stay there with it. If you come to this country forget about making your homelands holiday one of ours. If you want to be American then do it, be American.

I Can Be A What?

I keep looking for a job as I have looked for the last year and a half(very nearly), I have posted my resume on several job sites and I keep getting emails saying there are job openings for me to apply for. Nursing, medical specialist, nursing supervisor, medical records specialist and on and on. Nowhere in my 25 years experience have I ever worked in anything remotely resembling the medical profession. How 'bout the mokes that put up those job boards tailor them to look for more than specific word recognition and utilize something that uses phrase recognition instead. Sheesh!

The Joys Of Dual Home Ownership
___________________________

I can say for certain that owning two homes is getting to be a pain. Working on the recently acquired house leads to neglect of the current home. We have had a bout of cool rainy weather lately which , as we all know, grows grass. So now I have my home , my new home, and my neighbors yard all wearing a 4-5 inch topcoat. To top it off, while mowing the new yard a couple weeks ago I hit something and knocked the fly wheel loose on my Toro. It's in the shop. The warranty will cover it. The Cub Cadet came down with an electrical version of the flu last fall and up to today I haven't been able to figure it out. A shop is coming to pick it up in the morning. So now we are "down" to the old Wheel Horse B-80. This tractor was given to me by a neighbor last spring. It has sat for over a year. Today I cleaned all the electrical connections, installed all new gas lines, cleaned the spark plug, filled it with new gas and some carb cleaner(B-12) and installed a new battery. A shot of ether to get it going and it runs like a top. Tomorrow it will get badly needed new front tires and a mowing we will go. After an oil change.

Treasures and Cleanup
___________________

We had another dumpster placed at the new home today. We have filled about 30 contractor bags with debris that needs to be hauled off. The bags won't come close to filling the dumpster so we are going to spend at least a half hour every night going through 27 years of accumulation to trim down the tonnage for the big move. I guess I'll have to get rid of some of my "treasures". My Grandfather always had the most amazing collection of hardware, parts, tools and useful stuff. I pretty much grew up in his garage. Sooooo.... I have built a pretty good collection of hardware, parts, tools and useful stuff. I have always wanted to be just like grandad and be the person everyone came to to get that "one" thing that couldn't be found anywhere else. I guess I'll have make my inventory a little on the lighter side. Until I get a garage extension built!

Jobs? Who's Got Jobs?
______________________

I keep hearing the Guvm't saying things are getting better but we can expect the jobless situation to carry on for years. Great. I have been without work for 1 year and 5 months. I have applied for and sent in resumes for hundreds of jobs and have not received one single call, letter or email for an interview. I have received 3 or 4 emails of denials. Those have been in reference to jobs on the lower end of my work history. Custodians, janitors, lawn care, warehouse. All those jobs have been kind enough to send emails saying overqualified, not qualified, or position filled. All the rest? Nothing, nada. How can the government say things are getting better when more and more people are losing their jobs and more and more people are losing their unemployment benefits? Every month results in a net loss in jobs, but the powers that be insist on claiming that all is better. I say bullshit! How can sales improve when more people don't have an income? Am I being dense about this or am I missing something here? I don't think so. I have a great resume, an outstanding work history and lots of experience and have never had a problem getting a job. But in this high unemployment scenario my background, skills and experience don't count for squat. What everyone looks for now is a portion of the resume that includes a diploma from a college. So in this environment I think the burden is on me to provide an income, not rely on a corporation to provide an exchange of labor for dollars. I have several ideas but they all require an immediate injection funds in one quantity or another and in this economy I am hesitant to start any sort of business. So I continue on, working at what ever I can get, doing whatever I can do and deciding on what direction to take in these difficult times.

Spring Has Arrived
___________________

With all the rain, floods, and tornadoes I guess we can say that spring has truly arrived. With the coming of spring another set of issues arrives as well. If you live in the area generally known as Tornado Alley you know what I mean. With little to no warning disaster can strike in a moments notice, day or night. Your home, with you and all your possessions, can be ripped off the foundation and tossed miles away. For those of you with little to no knowledge of the power of a tornado look at this picture of the remains of Greensburg Kansas after an F5 tornado hit this small town. Take a few moments and go buy a weather alert radio and set it up and listen to it. It may give you the short amount of time needed to get to the basement or cellar. If you don't have a basement or cellar determine the strongest place in your house or apartment to take cover in. Closets are usually a good place. Get on line and look at the many ways to reinforce a small room to make it a weather shelter. Next get a copy of any important documents and place them in a water resistant bag or container and keep it in your weather shelter. Keep you shelter stocked with a few supplies such as a flashlight, food, water and a radio. A gas shut off tool might be handy too. I remember, as a small child, the family rushing to the cellar at the coming a a dangerous storm. During one such adventure(to a little boy) I found a pound cake stored in the cellar. A few years later When the storm sirens went off,( actually the fire alarm) the family would all rush over to Granny and Grandpa's house. Panic? Worry? Naw, get out the lawn chairs and watch the clouds, play with the cousins, have a good time. The cellar was only accessed in a dire emergency. I met a man that had purchased, as surplus, a concrete telecommunications shelter, installed a FEMA rated door, and piled gravel half way up the walls to anchor it in place. That was his idea of a storm shelter. What are your ideas?

A Million Green Cards
__________________

Are you out of work? Unemployed? Under employed? You'll be glad to know the Obama administration has issued a million green cards. That's a million more folks trying to get jobs that the millions of struggling, unemployed, legal Americans are trying to secure. Be sure to thank them in the next election.

B.A.G. Day
________________________

Well Buy A Gun Day (April 15) has come and gone and I didn't buy any guns. Not that there aren't any I'm wantin' it's just that any new shooters don't fit into the tight budget. I think BAG Day is a great way to protest tax day. File your tax form, buy a gun. What a sweet idea! Mark it on your calendar for next year, April 15, buy a gun.

Taxation Without Representation
_____________________________

Every one knows that taxes are collected from your payroll. And you know about local taxes and state taxes and personal property taxes. But think of all the other taxes, sales tax on everything you buy, city stickers and gas taxes, FICA, unemployment taxes, environmental fees, universal telephone taxes. Fines and penalties are just another form of taxation. We will have the grandaddy of all taxes with the Health Care Bill. Add up all the taxes you pay in one form or another and I would bet you are missing nearly 50 percent of your hard earned wages. I have discussed this with may people and I'm shocked at how many folks think that's OK. I guess the re-education program has worked. How can a sane person think that it's reasonable or even legal to involuntarily surrender half of your wealth every year. The folks that think this is OK also think that it's fine to penalizes people that make lots of money. Unless it's themselves or their children. They think if you start a business and sell a product and even employ many people and eventually earn a tidy profit, you should be taxed a a rate of 50% or greater. They think it's all right to tax you for creating jobs, giving people the means to survive and making money for your own self. Without exception, everyone that has told me this is a Democrat. Surprise, surprise.

One Step Forward And Two Steps.......
_______________________________

That's what I feel like when working on this house we bought. I had the kitchen near ready to paint and then we had a driving thunderstorm that forced water through the semi-open outer wall of the kitchen getting the floor wet. Stop! Regroup! Move outside! So, I installed exterior sheathing over the "bump out" of the kitchen, got it sealed up and primed prior to the rain moving in last night. My father in law was in the kitchen working on the electricity and he comes to me and says, "you aren't going to like this but...." . We had to tear out the lower 4 feet of sheet rock to access the wiring as it appeared an idiot wired the place. So to make sure we had it wired right and safe we took out four feet of rock on two walls. Oh well, it had to be done. I sprayed the yard for offending weeds and dandelions. It appears as though the stuff I sprayed was plant food, judging by the number of weeds and dandelions that have sprung up. Well at least everyone says we will have a really neat house when we get done. It is a very unique structure for this area. Kind of a 1960's California contemporary style. We will keep moving along and one day we will be living in it. The semi-good news is a man called us and he and his business partner want to come by our current home with the idea of purchasing it to flip. We'll see how this works out.
80,000 For 2012
____________________

I found this over at the WMSA site. What does the government think we are up to? An 80,000 man brigade to cover any possible civilian unrest during the 2012 elections? What we want is a return to an actual constitutional government, with a strong emphasis on states rights and a limited power federal government. And given the 50/50 divide among the military as to who would and who wouldn't fire on civilians, 80 thou isn't nearly enough. Hit the polls hard, vote every socialist sounding a-hole out of office, vote in anyone that espouses conservative values and has the history to back it up. Oh, and just in case, keep you powder dry.

Holy Cow!
____________

What a week it's been! Unemployment came to an end, so we are taking a pretty good cut in our salary. Contrary to what the pseudo president has to say, the job situation is NOT getting any better. I need to put up my flyers for lawn mowing service to try and generate a little income but, everyone is mowing grass at this time. I had to change track on the house we bought as the kitchen wall has developed a leak from where the drunken/high past owner tore off the siding and installed foam insulation but no exterior sheathing. So...that's what I'm doing now. Maybe I can get back on course and get the plan of attack going. The good news is that we applied for a grant and found out that we have been approved. This will go a long way towards improvements in the new place. Cherry Pie had to go to the county assessors office this morning as they have been taxing this property as a 153,000 dollar home. She took pictures and the papers showing that we paid 27 thousand for it. The county is going to lower the assessed rate. So, I'm mowing the first paying yard of the year and I hit a freakin' I beam that was driven into the ground and cut off just about at grass level. The mower has another bent crank. ^#^%*&%&&! Thankfully, when I bent the crank last year I had a new motor installed and it renewed the warranty on the mower. So it shouldn't cost much but labor. To top it off both of our cell phones went on the fritz. Mine started showing a white screen and when in that situation, would not let you use the phone. In addition it started calling people on it's own! It called my niece and an hour or so later it called my mother with NO assistance from me, so tonight we had to get new phones. What a hassle. As I said, what a week it's been.

What's Been Going On?
___________________

With all the work and running I've been doing I haven't even listened to the news. The only thing I've heard is Barry has bowed to another world leader. Does he feel subservient to all the leaders of the world? Is he a boot licker and a forelock puller as well? My gosh, he's supposed to be the leader of the most powerful nation on earth and he freaking bows his way around the world.

What I've Done
__________________

The question is asked frequently both here and on another site, what have you done to improve you preparedness? Well to tell the truth with our income short and getting shorter, we haven't done much for a while. On this latest trip to Sam's Club, we laid in an extra case of TP and 2 extra cases of paper towels. That is all we could do but those thing do come on handy and do have a place in anyones inventory. Oh, I almost forgot, I started turning up a garden spot at the new house. Maybe I can get it done in time to put potatoes in the ground. They should have been in already but in this area it has been too wet and muddy. I also have a 1/2 dozen tomato plants coming from a friend so at least we'll have taters and 'maters.

Guns Galore
_____________

I walked into a gun shop the other day, you know, just to look around, and I spied a Winchester 1897 pump sitting in the used rack. While it had very little original blueing, it was not pitted all to hell and functioned fine. Price? 350 bucks. Most of these gems have been snapped up by the cowboy action shooters so this one was a surprise. I mosey down the line a few steps and lo and behold what do I see? A genuine Colt Mustang! Good condition with a couple of scratches on the front strap but no other damage. The slide pulled back slick and smooth. Price for this beauty? 600 dollars. I thought long and hard about this one. Long and hard. Let's see the Caddi needs work, the truck needs work, the Harley is sitting in pieces, we are still pouring dollars into the new property, my unemployment is coming to an end, I don't have any guns I want to sell or trade so, no little shooter for me. On with the tour, down in the black rifle territory, I found a way cool Ruger SR-22 and next to it, a Smith and Wesson M&P 22. At this time I think rimfire tacticool rifles are da bomb as centerfire ammo is so darned expensive. I spent an hour and a half lookin' and talkin' guns so all in all it was a really good morning.

He's from Where?

___________________

I know it's been a few days but I just had to get this out before I go back to sheet rock repairs.

In a remarkable admission during a speech, Michelle Obama came out with a shocking revelation. Confirming the claim of all those "birthers" that are constantly derided in the media, Presidential Wifey says that Kenya is Obamas home country! Take a gander at this video while its still available.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk3OMRqO7aY&feature=player_embedded

Wow! Did she say what I thought I heard her say? Will this get any traction in the the lawsuits that seek to compel Obama to actually show proof of citizenship in the USA? So, it turns out that he wasn't born in Hawaii like he says and Hawaii says and all those libtards say. No wonder the Big O has spent over 800,000 clams to hide his birth records.

This is what Kenya has to say about the whole issue.

A Private Army
__________________

One of the little things included in the Health care Law is not so little. Hardly anything in this law is little. Massive is more like it. Any way, the law has a provision it to allow the creation of a new governmental corps. It's called the Ready Reserve Corps. Just what we really need, another government group to do the bidding of the the government. We have FBI, US Marshall's, DIA, CIA, NSA, DHS and now the RRC. So in effect, Obama created his own private police force. Instead of jobs. Oh yeah, 16,500 jobs were created for the IRS... to monitor our compliance with the law. Let's see. The government took over the health care industry and we will be forced to purchase their coverage. The government owns 60 percent of GM, will the government force us to buy GM products under the general duty and commerce clause as well?

Mexico Wants What?
______________________

The President of Mexico, a country whose primary export is humans, wants the US to re-instate the so called assault weapon ban cause we are, ya know, responsible for all the violence in Mexico now. The drug cartels can buy a whole container of AK's from China for the cost of a few AR15s. But it's our highly expensive firearms that are causing the violent out breaks in that third world country. Does their President also smoke crack? He must, to come up with this bullshit. Or maybe the UN is putting him up to it. The UN really wants the US to sign up for their small arms anti-proliferation treaty. Let's see, they say guns are coming across their border and it's our fault? We need to remind Mexico that they are sending millions of illegal immigrant to our country every year. If they stop that invasion maybe we will try to stem the flow of firearms into their pathetic, destitute, crooked little country.

A Militia?
_____________

You have probably heard that the FBI and several local pd's raided a militia in three states. A militia? A militia of 9 people? That's less than a squad. More like a patrol. And they sound more like a bunch of bubbas that all go to their own brand of church and bs about all they would like to do and shoot guns to top it off. I will say, if you are a shooter and you fall in with a group like this leave immediately. My biggest question is how far did the FBI informant "embedded" with this "militia" push them? What this has done is put the word militia in the minds of all law enforcement again and put a bad connotation with it again, just like in the 90's. So folks if you're going out shooting, make sure you know all your shooting buddies and for crying out loud don't wear camouflage to the range and don't give yourself a goofball name. Oh, yeah, try to keep your group below 9. That seems to be the trigger point for being declared a "militia". Nine. The Feebies are pulling out all stops, even dragging out the sedition charge. Sedition? How long has it been since anyone was charged with that? And weapons of mass destruction? Didn't we invade a country over that? And now 9 morons are building them here? So a pipe bomb is a WMD now? So plumbing supplies would be precursory materials now right? Will there be a registration of all plumbing supply providers and UN check points and searches of all semis that could be transporting plumbing supplies? They're really stretching the point on this one.

The Decline
____________

It has been tossed around that the Social Security system will be bankrupt by 2016. By 2016 all of you collecting a check and all of you that expect to collect a check might be in trouble. The problem is though, this year Social Security says they will pay out more than they take in. That's right, more going out than is coming in. In my mind this is the real start of the end. To continue paying all those millions of monthly checks the Government will have to borrow more money from foreign governments or have their buddies at the Federal Reserve make loans so the federal printing presses can run 24/7 which will devalue the dollar even further resulting in massive inflation. At the same time we are embarking on a misguided journey with a national health care bill that will end up costing trillions that we don't currently have and will not ever have unless once again we borrow more dollars from, again, foreign countries and/or run the federal printing presses even faster creating even more inflation and devaluation of the FRN (Federal Reserve Note) Do your self a favor and use the worthless dollars in your possession now and trade it in on real money. Silver coins, gold coins. Real constitutional money. A lot of financial advisors tell us that gold is not a wise investment but if that were true why does every nation in the world have massive stockpiles of gold bullion?

Spring is here and there are many thing everyone needs to do. Consider putting in a garden, as large as you can manage. Learn to preserve any of your extra produce. Tune up your lawn and garden equipment. Repack your GOOD (get out of dodge) bags. Replace any batteries in flashlights, smoke detectors and other items. Check and clean all your firearms. Do a detailed summary of all you stored items and make a list of other items to buy. With the nice weather, get outside an let the sun shine on you. Go fishing. Go biking. Wash all the winters accumulation of salt and sand off all your vehicles. Change the tires if you run winter only tires. Spring is the time for renewal and rejuvenation so get with it.

Health Care for All Americans?
______________________

This health care law is supposed to provide health insurance for all Americans. So when did we elect non-American politicians? 'Cause if they were Americans they would be in line for the same crappy, socialistic plan we are getting subjected to. Ask your congress critter about that. Or maybe even demand that those high and mighty on the hill partake of the same sewage we are.

I want it real bad

I'm jonesing for a Sig Sauer P238. Bad. Real Bad. But with a house under remodel and a Harley in the midst of a rebuild, a new heater is not in the plan. But if I can squeeze 600 smackaroos out somewhere I'll have a new belly gun.

Mo. Lt. Gov. Sounds off
________________________

Missouri may be joining in on the lawsuit that is developing over the health care law. Thirteen or fourteen state are currently signed on and Missouri's Lt. Governor is asking the Governor, Senator and Attorney General to join him but when you're the only Republican in a Democratic State House...well you can probably guess.

Cost Rica?
________________________

A good friend of mine is doing a lot of talking about Costa Rica lately. Costa Rica this and Costa Rica that. I think I found out what is going on. Here a picture of the Miss Costa Rica Contest. Or maybe it's this. Or even this. Here's something I found for him. What ever the reason, good luck and if you get there enjoy it all you can.

The Battle Starts
_______________

There are 14 states that are bringing suit against the Federal Government over the Healthcare mandate. As expected, I have been hearing the tired old story that the Government has the right to enforce this bank busting law due to the commerce clause in the Constitution. What complete and total bullshit. That clause has been stretched so far and thin it's a wonder it hasn't snapped. "To regulate (make standard) Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian Tribes" In that same section it says that the congress must "coin" money. Not create it from thin air. It also says that congress shall not fund an army for more than 2 years. All this can be found in Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution. Look it up.

We are rapidly running out of funds for this project. A grand here, a few grand there makes it go very quickly. We have found and applied for two grants and another will open in April that we will apply for. So we have our fingers crossed at this point. The furnace is in and running with over half of the duct work installed. Some of the electrical work is done and Cherry Pie has a nice walk in closet framed in. Cabinets are ordered but, we got them from Lowes instead of Cabinets To Go or Kansas City Cabinets Direct. Lowes could provide the size of pantry we wanted and we had a nice discount with them.. Windows are ordered and we are waiting on delivery. So you can see all the major stuff is bought. Now come the part that nickle and dimes you to death. Great.

Ann Coulter (the Goddess) was shut out of the building she was going to speak in at Ottawa Canada. Rocks and stick were thrown. The police were barred from responding. Blogs called for her death and the Parliament spoke poorly of her. Reminiscient of Michael Savages problem with the UK. Where he is banned. Fuck all those British countries.

The Health Care bill is now law. But not for the law makers. They still get their "cadillac" plans.

New saying....Come November, We'll remember.

It seems that several bricks have been thrown through several windows in protest over the health care law passage.

It costs much more to live in LA than it does Missouri. Fact. 63,000 dollars/frn California is about 28,000 dollars/frn Missouri.

GOOD MORNING AMERIKANS!
_________________________

Welcome Comrades! Hail to the Great ONE! This glorious morning we start that long journey that leads us further and further into socialism. We had an abortion delivered on the floor of the House last night and our liberal, marxist, socialistic, would be president is all set to sign this travesty. Seven states are poised to file lawsuits against the federal government over this theft of the Americans right to choice, to decide, to live free of government intrusion into our lives. We are now under the thumb of the Government as they will now direct every aspect of our health. From providing service to deciding if you are worth the expense of life. Yes, Sarah Palins death panels ARE in the bill/law. Yes, you will be fined for not buying insurance. Yes, you will be ordered to buy insurance. Yes, the IRS is hiring nearly 17,000 agent to police the peoples purchase of insurance. Yes, the IRS will fine you for non-compliance. Yes you can go to jail for not complying. So yes, we are now subjects of a despot. The only shining light is that subjects have been known to rise and remove the despot. The time to rise is now. Right now. Remove EVERY Democrat from office this fall and in 2012. Every fucking one of them. We as a people must start holding our electorate accountable for their actions. Dig up any dirt on any one of them, publish that info. Get pictures of them in compromising situations. File lawsuits against them until they are broke and destitute. Fund their political opponents as much as you can afford. Run for office and call them out to answer for their actions. It's time for real Americans to take this country back.

The Congressional Circus Is In Town
_________________________________

We've been watching that horror show called the House of Representatives. Representative? Who do they think they are representing? All polls indicate that the healthcare bill as it stands, is widely unacceptable to a large majority of Americans. My thoughts are, if a Congressional district is largely against the healthcare overhaul like we are seeing and that districts Representative votes for it, the district should recall the Representative and his vote should be discounted. If he did not vote the wishes of his constituents then he is not doing his job. And if the job is not being done then the vote cannot, should not count. Thank God the fall elections are approaching faster than we really want, but at least we'll be getting rid of a whole bunch of imperious fools known as liberals. Liberals who have long ago left the human race to become, in their minds, demigods. Demigods with all the power to impose their will on all the serfs of their fiefdom. I urge any one with a Representative that votes contrary to your districts wishes, to take it up with the Representative personally. As said frequently on the Sipsey Street Irregulars, break their windows. I prefer arms and craniums but hey, to each his own. Ahm, a honin' ma' blade and loadin' ma' rifle guns. Nah, just looking at them fondly and dreaming of a better place.
At least the President and his motley collection of 216 fools are going to be met with multiple court challenges as soon as pen touches paper. Florida, Idaho, Virginia and others are prepared to file suit against the Feds to have the healthcare bill declared unconstitutional. As in not in the Federal mandate, as in not an enumerated power. And don't give me that general duty clause bullshit either. We're on to that particular little game that has been foisted on us for decades.
As usual we heard a whole bunch of Dimocrats speaking against the healthcare bill but, when the rubber meets the road, they vote party line. Liars and charlatans every one of them.

Our Son has been here for a week and today we delivered him to the airport for his return to home and service. We always appreciate his visits but they are never really enough. Thieves Bickering
_____________________

The Honorable House of Reprobates is debating the latest version of the tax and rob bill tonight. Yeah, I mean the Health Care bill. The one that will cost us, our children and grandchildren untold millions, nay, trillions of dollars to implement. The Liar in Charge says he can get this atrocity in place and provide health care for all at no net cost. WTF? No net increase to cover every man woman and child in this nation? Is he still smoking crack? Who's doing his math for him? Drunken kindergartners? We'll just have to see how this p.o.s. shakes out. I just heard there are 100,000 calls coming in to the congress every hour over this issue. Is any one listening? I have my doubts.

Sibel Edmonds Again
_______________________

I recently wrote about a lady named Sibel Edmonds. She's the FBI translator that heard tapes that implicate several politicians in treason. Now her previous employer is backing her. The FBI says they have the documents to back up what she has been saying since 2002. I really am interested to see if any of this results in any kind of charges against these hypocrites.

Federal Reserve Reservations
___________________________

The Federal Reserve has had reservations about disclosing the names of the banks and financial institutions that received bailout money. They claim it will cause harm to those banks if this information gets out. I guess we'll see if any harm comes to them as a Federal Court of Appeals has ruled that The Fed must release that information. It's about time is all I can say about this.

Construction trades unemployment is at 27 percent. No wonder I'm having a hard time finding a job.
It seems that strategic defaults on home loans are getting popular in California. With the collapse of housing prices, many folks are refusing to pay for McMansions that now are priced like a McHovel. So they pack up, walk out and rent a house or apartment at far less than what they were paying on a mortgage.
TSA needs to train their employees about basic gun handling. My son brought two pistols home with him via airlines. Questions to him were: How can you tell if the magazine is loaded? If you put the magazine thing in it will it be loaded? Do you know what we're supposed to do for this gun thing? Are you a SEAL?
His observation: They can't tell if the magazine is loaded and are concerned that it might be but NO ONE looked in the chamber. And finally, "These are the people that are supposed to be protecting us?"

Done For Now

The Rock Island Armory .45 that is. I got all the major pieces Dura Coated, the feed ramp polished, an Ed Brown trigger installed and all re-assembled. Due to finances, I have to wait on the stainless hammer, grip safety and mainspring housing. But it is lookin' good! I had some issues this morning getting the sear assembly installed. They make it look so easy on the AGI video. I finally got it done though. I'll be glad to tote this instead of the boat anchor of an XD 45 I've had filling in for my carry piece. I got my Dad's Marlin model 60 done too. Installed a new inner mag tube, detailed cleaned it and mounted a 1 inch scope on it. I also got him a couple of magazines for his 10/22. Happy Fathers Day Dad!

Wyoming Challenge
______________________

Speaking of guns, Wyoming just issued their own 10 amendment proclamation. Now they have a law in place that says any federal officers trying to enforce federal firearm laws in Wyoming can be arrested, tried and sentenced to two years in prison and or 2 thousand dollars in fines. Talk about a slap down. I wish good ol' MO. would sprout a pair and get our own law like that on the books. It looks like the USG is gonna have their hands full with all the Tenth challenges they are seeing.

With all the time we have been spending at the new house and given that my Son is home on leave I haven't been posting much lately. Either dog tired or very busy( I was up at 5:30 to work on the gun). That's the way it's been lately. Tomorrow we are going to take a tour of the Boulevard Beer Brewery and eat lunch somewhere.

Silence No More
________________

Sibel Edmonds was an interpreter for the FBI. As such she was privy to critical information gained from wiretaps that she had to interpret. Some of the stuff she heard shook her belief in the American Political system. She attempted to bring this information to light but the Bush II administration muzzled her under the State Secrets Clause. Now, due to her testimony for the Ohio Election Commission, she may be able to tell all as the Obama administration is not going to stop her from revealing the treasonous information that she holds. This stuff is really inflammatory, were talking Senators and Representatives being on the take to a foreign county and working to help that country in exchange for cash and property as well as lucrative employment after their political term ran out. Well known names at that. Dennis Hastert, Roy Blunt, Tom Lantos and others. If this information comes out and is proven true then all of the suspects should be found guilty of treason and publicly executed. FBI and CIA employees think she has some real solid information that points to treason.

House Report
__________________

We are making progress on the house that we bought at foreclosure. We hired a few teenagers we know to swamp out the basement. That was interesting. Three teenagers covered in mud, traipsing up and down the stairs with buckets filled with mud, trash, debris, junk and who knows what. They did work hard though. We paid them 50 bucks each for 5 hours work and threw in a few pizzas to sweeten the deal. We are really making some progress with the demo type stuff. I'm starting construction type stuff now. The only problem is me. I big and have always been strong as an ox. Now after a lifetime of hard work and even harder play, my body is failing me. Arthritis and some other joint issues are really slowing me down. Wrists and shoulders are the real problems. I broke down and bought a nail gun this morning as I could hardly swing a hammer yesterday. Ain't life a bitch? I've got all this time on my hands now, we have a little money to make the repairs, we have a decent property to work on and I'm falling down on the job. That sucks. I'm still sticking with the 3 month idea to get us in to a portion of the house. We have looked at new cabinets for the kitchen at Lowes, a local cabinet shop and another cabinet shop. The 2 shops came in around 5 grand. Lowes came in at 5 grand but we had a discount with them that brought it to 3,600 dollars. Then I found a place called http://www.cabinetstogo.com/ Their base cabinets are the upgrade cabinets at the home improvement centers and are the same as from the custom shops. But, at much lower costs. Every cabinet maker bases their pricing on a 10 x 10 kitchen. Cabinetstogo's price for an oak front with plywood side is something like 1,700 dollars and a very reasonable shipping rate. We have since found another place that is local to us, called http://www.kansascitycabinets.com/ and they are even more reasonable with the same construction. Soooo, we will be going with Kansas City Cabinets. I keep saying, to make your dollars stretch further you have to look for the deals. Here's another example, we found wrought iron security storm doors with frame and dead bolt locks for 389 dollars. Not light weight black tubing but wrought iron work. I'm keeping this one secret until we get them installed.

Preps
__________________

Ive been thinking while I'm working and in the evening I'm re-reading James Talmages book, "Making The Best of Basics". He brings up several good points that are often overlooked by a lot of folks setting up their preparedness inventories. Do you wear glasses or contacts? Do you have back up for them? You need to. I have one extra pair of glasses but I need the prescription updated. What about meds? Do you have allergies? Do you have what it takes to get through you particular allergy season for the next year or two? Do you have women in the child bearing years living with you? Feminine Sanitary products will make life much better all around if you have these items in stock. Small children get colds, sniffles and a host of other debilitating problems that can make life hell for any one in the house. Keep all the necessary item to deal with childhood sickness on hand. I urge everyone to get a copy of this book. Get it here.

NAFTA No More?
___________________

A group of politicians, Republican and Democrat, are looking to repeal the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Did you notice that, Republicans and Democrats ? Finally the two main parties working toward something that is actually good for American and the American people. Now we just need to see if it gets passed.

That's A Lot of Guns
____________________

You want to know why the Government is unlikely to try a gun confiscation plan? It's because in 2009 Americans added 14,000,000 guns to their home inventories. 14,000,000 guns! That's on top of the 250 million or so the ATF estimates is already in the hands of law abiding civilians. That 2009 number is more guns than 21 of the worlds armies have. Folks, keep the USG nervous, try to top that number this year, another 15-20 million would be OK. I'll try to do my part to help out. In a similar vein, this has become my favorite song.

I've been very busy this week working on the new property. All demo is finally done and I can start on the rehab this week.

I read that Home Land Security wants to read ALL emails originating in this country. Isn't that a Constitutional violation or something?

The Honorable Senator Harry "Fucknut" Reeves calls it a good day when 36,000 folks lose their jobs in one day. Just 36,000. In one day.

Last year Federal regulators shut down 140 banks. So far this year they have shuttered 26. That includes the four that were closed this weekend.

Missing.........jobs. The Government claims they have created or saved untold thousands of jobs. So far the only ones I've seen are more Government jobs.

The Supreme Court has heard arguments in the McDonald case. Chicago says they have the right to ban handguns, the plaintiff says they don't. Is this case going to finally settle the question that was never in need of asking? It's a plain as can be, " the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". Reports say that the Justices were somewhat ambivalent and peppered both sides, revealing no hint as to their final decision.

Now I'm off to start getting the motor out of the Harley.

Tax Protesters
___________________

I'm not a believer in the Federal income tax system. It is extortion money plain and simple. Pay up or we will imprison you or kill you. How's that for a voluntary system? It seems several government programs are run in such a manner. How's this one...get a permit to sell guns or we will hound you to poverty, imprison you or just kill you. That one is referring to an activity that had no real regulation to it until 1963. Then the .gov decided it was terrible to have the people arming themselves with things that could jeopardize the illegal, unconstitutional activities that have been going on ever since. Any hoo, in regard to income tax, look up section 861 of the income tax code some time. It is so inflammatory the IRS is deleting it from newly published code manuals. AND saying it doesn't really mean what it says. Ex-IRS agent Sherry Peel Jackson is doing time for spreading this 861 info. She was actually arrested and convicted for not paying her income taxes per section 861 but she really made the IRS mad, real mad, when she went on a speaking tour, spreading DVDs out, telling the story of section 861. But back to my point, here is a lengthy article on the income tax system.

The Obama Machine
______________________

Look at this video that details all the crap Obama is signing into law that is threatening our very freedoms. He has really been busy when not out on dates, jet setting around, going shopping and attending concerts and apologising for all Of Americas "mistakes". This man is probably the most dangerous individual to ever hold this office.
