Pure Ignorance From Those In Power

"Feinstein said the firearms of law-abiding Americans need to be placed under “appropriate authority."
Every time a quote like this has been made and acted upon a genocide has occurred. In places like Nazi Germany, Communist China, Communist Russia, Uganda and many other nations.
Are our leaders actually ignorant enough to think that millions of angry armed gun owners will sit idly by for draconian gun taxes, the listing of their guns on the NFA registry or the confiscation of guns and magazines?

Obama certainly thinks so or he wouldn't be making these asinine comments.

“I've been very clear that an assault-rifle ban, banning these high capacity clips, background checks, that there are a set of issues that I have historically supported and will continue to support,” the president said."

He has been careful to hide these feelings these last few years, but if you know his pas,t this is no surprise.

“I think there are a vast majority of responsible gun owners out there who recognize that we can't have a situation in which somebody with severe psychological problems is able to get the kind of high-capacity weapons that this individual in Newtown obtained and gun down our kids,” Obama said."

I think most gun owners are responsible gun owners yet I have actually had conversations with ignorant gun owners that claim to want a limit on "high" capacity magazines and those "military" style rifles. I am quick to point out that those rifles, in fact, operate no differently than those beloved Remington semi auto's of the deer woods for so many years. And the magazines they want to ban are, in fact, standard capacity for these firearms. And a magazine of 10 rounds capacity works no differently than one of thirty rounds capacity  But, the responsible gun owners that I actually know have no intention of surrendering anything. They are buying like there is no tomorrow. Guns, magazines, ammunition. They are not doing this for the act of surrendering them for grocery cards, or for minuscule cash payments or even confiscation,  they are doing this in preparation for war.

Most deer, elk, moose, bear and varmint hunters are pretty good shots. I'm talking from 50 to 1000 yards. And we outnumber those willing to take our freedoms, take our guns, take our lives by a huge ration. We could enact a guerrilla war that would take this illegitimate government down. No bureaucrat or their supporters that favors these proposed measures of taxing, confiscation and NFA listing would ever feel comfortable on their daily commute, their daily jog, their grocery run, their cook outs, their family reunions.

And you think this is over the latest school shooting? Or the accumulated effects of other mass shootings? According to a source inside DHS this has been in the plans for a while and they may engineer another event if this one fails to get the desires effect.
The governments goal for many years has been to strip us of our second amendment rights. And they dont' care how many they have to kill to arrange that. Don't believe me? Do search of the governments that have massacred million of their citizens to achieve their political goals. When a government has all the power there is no stopping them from doing what they want to keep the power. And that my friends is the object of gun control. To keep the government in power.

A Thinking Person

In a political climate where one may be classified as a felon, a hazard to the public by the stroke of a pen, a thinking person would take several actions.

One, compile a list of home addresses of those who would persecute you.

Two, that same person would have accumulated the goods and supplies to carry out their mission..

Three, this fictitious person would have trained themselves in the use of said goods and supplies.

Four, A sharp look out for any activities of their enemies would be maintained.

Five, This person must be willing to risk their life to engage the enemy whenever possible say, as they were traveling to a raid somewhere in their AO or conducting a raid in their AO.
Or during said raid, that person might take a look at that list they compiled and go shall we say, visiting.

Six, An evacuation plan would also be a good idea.

Seven, A survival network might also come in handy.

Eight, A partner might be helpful also or even a small team say 3-5 like minded people. All with a proven evac plan.

It seems that there may be laws or regulations coming down the road that may necessitate action similar to these. There is so much bullshit being flung about in relation to the recent tragedy. The leftists cannot understand that the guns or access to the guns did not cause this horrendous crime. A sick mind, phycotropic drugs and violent video games led to this disaster. Every day I read comments saying how evil guns are, how evil gun owners are, how guns made this freak do this unspeakable act. They use one of the rights to call us names, call for us to be imprisoned, call for our deaths. Yet they think nothing of violating the right that we as gun owners exercise. Shall we call for a ban on their speech? Shall we demand that these death wishes and desires for our deaths to be dealt with in the harshest terms?

A fucked up individual violated 20,000 gun laws and and several moral codes yet legal, responsible gun owners will be made to pay for his heinous actions.

They keep fucking with us and a hard steel rain will indeed fall.

Thanks to Zoomie for the graphics.

Some More Weather Pictures

I made it to work OK, no thanks to my fellow drivers. A couple of them had no business being behind the wheel of anything this morning. Early in the afternoon the sun came out and a lot of thawing happened. In the KC area that is. When I got home I found the highway to our city was still defined by two pairs of black tracks divided by packed sleet, ice and snow. I finally made it into my own damned driveway and found we still had a lot of snow. Nothing like what you would see in the mountains  or even in the western and northern plains. But for this area lately it was a pretty good snow storm. I had six inches in the front yard and some pretty good drifts in the back yard. I took these pics when I got home tonight. Early, I might add thanks to my bosses concerns

You can see where our Shepherd has been romping a little. He really loves the snow. Almost as much as I do.

Well I have some thoughts I have to get together  so I'll sign off for a bit. Have a great evening, I know I will.

A Big Change, In the Weather That Is

Yesterday evening it started misting and drizzling rain. Then the rain increased in tempo until it was pounding on the roof. Last night we were awoken several times from the noise of the rain beating on the roof. Then the wind really increased and the power went  out several times. This morning we woke to this...

This is looking out the front door. You can't see it now but there is a road about 150 feet in front of that tree. The wind is gusting up to 45 miles per hour and the power is still flashing on and off. The news says that traffic is a real m****r f****r. Now I have to get ready to leave. My job doesn't pay enough to pay the deductable on my insurance so, wish me luck!

And The Uninformed Are Speaking Out

The imbeciles are coming out of the wood work over this latest school shooting. The cries for gun control, bans on semi-automatic guns, bans on automatic guns, bans on assault weapons are starting to flood the news feeds and the comments sections.

"A veteran Democratic lawmaker believes the nation will go along with stronger gun control laws if President Obama “exploits” the Newtown, Conn., tragedy and nudges Congress to action"
Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/dec/14/dem-lawmaker-get-gun-control-obama-must-exploit-sh/#ixzz2FEXr4pKR

That's it you liberal assholes, exploit the deaths of 20 children to further your goals.

In regards to his poor, mudered mother,

"Last night it also emerged Nancy was a member of the Doomsday Preppers movement, which believes people should prepare for end of the world."
What the fuck does this have to do with anything. So what she stored food and supplies in the event of an emergency. It has NOTHING to do with the shooting.

"I wish people would stop the nonsense that guns are not the problem. The shooter was armed with an assault rifle he had been trained to use by his survivalist mother, and was able to fire multiple rounds with one clip. If he had a knife or a crossbow, he would never have been able to get into the school in the first place, never mind kill as many people as quickly as he did. People should be able to keep hand guns for protection, but semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles do not belong in the hands of private citizens. They were meant for war, not home protection. I'm so sick and tired of the NRA propaganda machine, and a lot the comments here reflecting their talking points. The NRA is an organization that has little to no use for even the slightest types of sensible checks and balances for gun ownership."
Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2248782/Adam-Lanza-How-classmates-remember-genius-turned-heartless-killer.html#ixzz2FEZTFIcB
You can make up your own comments on that pile of gargage, mistakes and ignorance.

"She created a monster.
Adam Lanza’s mother taught her son how to become a killing machine who used what he learned from her about firing guns to commit one of the worst massacres in American history at a Connecticut elementary school.
Weapon-loving Nancy Lanza regularly took her awkward loner-son Adam to shooting ranges, where the painfully shy boy — who suffered from the autism-related Asperger’s syndrome — blasted away targets using his mom’s small arsenal of guns." From the New York Post.

Shooting does not create a monster. Mental issues create a monster. His mother, in all likelyhood, did not create a monster. Teaching a son to shoot does not create a killing machine. The violent games that young people play for hours on end create killing machines and help create monsters. There's a reason the Army encourages its soldiers to play these kind of games.

Comments from the above pile of crap from the NYP....

"Without her automatic weapons it wouldn't have happened..dah."

"Caring parents do not go to the shooting range with their children. They play cards."

"she couldve took her son to the movies, a zoo or a park.....a shooting range now look what that caused"

"Here is what we know for a fact number 4, if he had not had an arsenal of mommies weapons he would not have been able to kill 20 kids in a few minutes."

"The waiting period to purchase a gun should be 30 days time enought
to do a complete background check. of course it would not have matttered here because we had a irresoinsible mother..... "

"Prone to violence" - Boy has a problem, boy's mother takes him to a shooting range, boy finds and uses Mom's guns to kill her and 25 others (including himself) Take out the shooting range and minus the guns, and we're back to a boy having a problem. Prone to violence came from the shooting range and the guns. I will NEVER understand gun lovers."

"Maybe she was going to kill him and he got the jump on her..whichever way, they were both sick, one was in love with weapons, the other was pure evil.put both of them together and you get weapons of mass destruction."

With all this ignorance floating around, with all this hate being spewed we really have a problem in American. People cannot get it, the guns had no choice in the matter. A fucked up person cause all this death. The gun was a tool. What would the body cound be if he had employeed a few pieces fo chain and a couple gallons of gas? The morons of American think murder only happens with a gun.

Another School Shooting

Drudge broke a story this morning of another shooting. This one is at a school in Connecticut.
Have you ever noticed these shootings come in groups? We had the douche bag of a Kansas City Chief shoot his girlfriend and then himself, that was followed by calls for gun control and now many NFL players have surrendered their guns. Then we had another shooting, this one at yet another mall. that was followed by more calls for gun control but not as much as you would think though. This morning, tragically, we hear of another school shooting.
Is it me or does there seem to be a pattern to these terrible actions. The violent threads all start either with calls for gun control or a violent action. One way or the other, it doesn't matter. We have shootings, and calls for legislation. Or calls for legislation followed by shootings.
Very predictable. Very regular, getting to be very common. Is there any possibility of some the fabled MK Ultra programming in play here? Or is the good ol' problem, reaction , solution playbook being used? What is triggering these groups of shootings?
Sleep on that for a while and see what you come up with.

The Hunger Of The Morning

I have finally figured out how I can loose weight. I just have to stay a little hungry all the the time. A normal day now starts out with a bowl of cereal and then I have one regular meal during the day, usually between the hours of 1 and 3 PM. This has been working very well and I have dropped around 30 pounds so far.
This morning though, I woke up with a real hunger, a hunger that could only be satisfied with, well, with gravy. Yep, good ol' sausage gravy. While I was whipping up a pan of the creamy, slightly peppery delicious mixture I had a couple of slices of bread in the toaster. After a few minutes I had this...

And it was oh, so good too.

Drunk is High, HIgh is Drunk

Two States have passed laws making the use and possession of marijuana legal. Now, a whole bunch of question are coming up about workplace use, drug testing issues, use by police and more. Why do they think it will or should be treated any different than alcohol use? In any job, if you are drunk, you are fired. If you test positive for alcohol you get treatment or you get fired. If you fail a field sobriety test you get arrested and charged with DUI. Why does anyone think that being high in any of those circumstances should be treated any differently? Drunk? You are fired or arrested. High? You should be fired or arrested. No difference.

Welcome!

I have been a little remiss in my greetings. Let me make up for that. I want to extend a great big ol' WELCOME to Bonnie Gadsen, TL Lee and Zinger123. Great to have  ya here! Now it's off to the pawn shop for me. We'll see what today brings through the door. I've got my eye on another neat gun! This really does have a pump action and it doesn't need any work either.

Not Quite High Enough

Finally some heads are rolling over the Fast and Furious debacle. Two damn years of stonewalling and obfuscation and out right lies have finally come to one definite firing and possible others to come. Several other ATF employees are set for some form of discipline. The list goes all the way to to Holders Chief of staff Gary Grindler. Grindler, in my opinion, "fell on his sword" to spare Holder the fate of being fired, disgraced and possibly indicted. This is not nearly enough punishment being doled out for trying to set up the second amendment as the culprit. Which is what the whole thing was really all about. There IS a definite stink to this whole affair.

The Remmy

I had mentioned earlier that I had put on lay-a-way at the pawn shop I work at, a Remington. I had stated that it was the pump but I misspoke. It is the semi-auto 552 Speedmaster. I brought it home last night. I contacted Remington with the barrel code to determine the date. These guns did not have serial numbers until later in life. They used a complex code system stamped on the left side of the barrel. My particular one was made in 1959, two years into the production run. This rifle has been abused in the most horrendous manner. Some dimwit took a nail or similar implement of torture and scratched on the side of the receiver the transfer of ownership from him to another person. Blankety blank blank To some dude. Emblazoned right on the side of this gun in the best moronic hand scratching for all to see. Sigh. I'll fix this outrage. And since it has a pretty cool tiger stripe butt, I'll also do the wood to bring our this effect. Here she is...

Here's a look at that striped buttstock...

I think the wood will turn out great. With the amount of filing I need to do on the receiver, I'll be lucky to salvage the Remington logo. Take a look at this travesty for yourself.

Here is the information I could find out about this neat old rifle.

In 1957 Remington brought to the firearms market a remarkable new auto loading .22 rifle. They designated this creation as the 552 Speedmaster.  As of now, according to Remington, this is the only American made autoloader that can handle .22 short, long and long rifle cartridges interchangeably.
You can still get this fine small bore rifle today in the upscale BDL version with deluxe sights, checkered stocks and a high polish finish.
   Here are the specs:
   Barrel…22 inches

   Overall length…40 inches

   Weight…5.8 pounds

   Safety…cross bolt style

Designed by L.R Crittendon and E.W. Hailston, this rifle employees a floating chamber to handle the different size ammo it will feed.
Remington offered this gun in several different configurations. The most popular being the standard rifle. It also came in the Deluxe BDL, Gallery Special in 22 short only, the carbine and finally the 150th anniversary edition.
Other than it’s feeding abilities the most notable feature of this rifle is the left side charging knob. That’s correct, the charging handle is on the left side. The ejection port however is on the right side.
Take down is very unique in that you must remove the barrel to clean the chamber. It is set up to do this and is very simple. If the barrel gets loose you simply install a new barrel bushing. Parts are readily available too. Here's a video of the take down and reassembly procedure.

Harmony? Discord?

Last night Cherry and I attended the monthly family dinner that her side does. Hmm, had some good food and for the most part everyone was well behaved and had a good time. It's the tiny little bit of not well behaved that gets me. They have a family member that is successful, semi-rich, has all the cool toys and a bitchin' house to boot. Every one is proud of him. The only problem is he has a large dose of god complex. If you don't agree with him you're wrong. Do something different? You're wrong. Can't get a job, you're lazy. Got a low paying job, well, there's no excuse for that.  No one can do anything right in his eyes.
Recently I have lost a bit of weight. I don't advertise it, I don't brag about it, but, it is enough that others notice it. Last night a non-family guest commented that I had lost weight and asked how much. I told him 30-35 pounds. Nothing more was said. So, dinner is finally served and it was worth the wait. A very tasty meatloaf, a new recipe of half smashed mashers and cheesy corn. As the portions were being dished out, everyone was discussing the food. When my plate was filled the asshole in question says,  "but you're on a diet" meaning not so much. I told him this was my meal of the day. A few seconds later he commented to his wife that this was my meal. It's not what he says but the tone and expressions he uses with these comments.  I have been able to maintain my cool for many years, but, in the interests of familial harmony I don't know if I can attend these dinners any longer. We'll see.
The best part of this is, big ol' me, over 6 feet tall, broad of shoulder and narrow of hip had no more on my plate than any of the other family members who are well under 6 feet.
To make this whole situation even better, this asshat wants to run for public office. God help us.

Just A Little Hurt

This morning I was in the basement working on a gun and lost track of time. I ended up running out the door without taking or bringing and of my several meds. After a long day of of no pain killers I realize how screwed up I am. Neck, back, hips, both knees, one shoulder, all screaming out for attention. Damn, I don't recall treating my self that bad. Well, yeah I do. I was always rough and hard on myself. Even broke down as I am I still tend to push it to hard and end up screwed up for several days. As I type this my hands are shaking from the pain. Damn it all to hell! But ya know what? I wouldn't have done anything different. The only good thing about today is that  this, my friends, is the last day of the job that is completing the destruction of my body. Yes the janitorial job is over, done.Yeah I know what you're thinking. Janitorial? Yes, I'm so broken down that a freaking janitors job is killing my knees and back. So I'm taking the pay cut and dropping tht one. I am getting more hours at the pawn shop though. Still, it's been a long painful day.

The Allure Of Check Cashing

This morning, the morning of my midweek day off, I went to cash one of my last checks from my night time cleaning gig. I use a place called Check Into Cash. They are helpful and convenient too. Recently the local branch hired a young woman to run the store.  This young lass is a beauty. Petite, right around 5 feet tall with a mass of dark brown hair hair spilling down past her shoulders. Her pale skin contrasts nicely with her hair color. Warm brown eyes set of her attractive face. She is slim but possesses a nice backside and great legs too. Today, a warm November day, she chose to wear a white muslin dress, an off one shoulder affair that ended above her knees. She is quiet but responds to compliments with a quick smile and a flash of pearly white teeth. Sadly, I only have very few more upcoming trips to this business as I have quit my night job and only have one or two checks to cash there. Oh, well. Life goes on.

It's The Guns I Tell Ya

If you own guns you have the power to protect you and yours, If you are the State, if you have the guns, supposedly, you can protect the citizens. If you happen to be the Federal government, and you have ALL the guns, then you can protect the states or you can turn then inward and intimidate and rule your subjects. It's all about the guns. Not really, but it seems that way. There have been many inroads made into the concealed carry movement. Open carry is making the news now. Gun sales are booming, and shooting classes and schools are booked up. Look at these article from today. This was found in a quick search.

http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/gun-store-owner-who-banned-obama-supporters-says-business-booming

http://www.democraticunderground.com/121856184

Any way, Ah got mine and ahm gittin' more. You do the same, ya hear?

And The Communists Say...

I just scored this off of Pravda, the Russian news agency. Take a read of their interpretation of the re-election of  Barry. I mean, the Russians, they know communism and socialism. Hell they invented those versions of politics.

"Putin in 2009 outlined his strategy for economic success. Alas, poor Obama did the opposite but nevertheless was re-elected. Bye, bye Miss American Pie. The Communists have won in America with Obama but failed miserably in Russia with Zyuganov who only received 17% of the vote. Vladimir Putin was re-elected as President keeping the NWO order out of Russia while America continues to repeat the Soviet mistake.

After Obama was elected in his first term as president the then Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin gave a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January of 2009. Ignored by the West as usual, Putin gave insightful and helpful advice to help the world economy and saying the world should avoid the Soviet mistake.

Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He plans his next war is with Iran as he fires or demotes his generals who get in the way."

After that what the hell can I say?

Pravda went on to say this...

"President Vladimir Putin could never have imagined anyone so ignorant or so willing to destroy their people like Obama much less seeing millions vote for someone like Obama. They read history in America don't they? Alas, the schools in the U.S. were conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised thus paving the way for their Communist presidents. Obama has bailed out those businesses that voted for him and increased the debt to over 16 trillion with an ever increasing unemployment rate especially among blacks and other minorities. All the while promoting his agenda."

They HAVE been paying attention haven't they?

And then here is what they have to say about our recent election and the recent call for secession...

"Soros and his ownership of the company that counts the US votes in Spain helped put their puppet in power in the White House. According to the Huffington Post, residents in all 50 states have filed petitions to secede from the Unites States. We'll say that these Americans are hostages to the Communists in power. How long will their government reign tyranny upon them?"

Read the whole thing here. It's quite elucidating. They know us better than we know ourselves it seems.

After Action Report Or Dinner Aftermath

Whew! This afternoon I told my nephew I was going to eat until I was uncomfortable. And I did. Wow. I am stuffed to the gills but the home made cranberry sauce I made turned out great! Thanks to Stephen and one of his commenters for that. The final nail in this gastronomical coffin was the extra piece of fruit cocktail cake. The ham, turkey, riced cheesy potatoes, the noodles, the, the, the...it all added to the queasy toll.

Later this evening I was feeling much better. So...I made a little sandwich of a wheat roll loaded with some ham. Wrong. Stuffed again.
But tomorrow I can have a turkey, stuffing and mayo sandwich. The best part of the Thanksgiving dinner is the leftovers.

Y' all have a wonderful evening and a magnificent Black Friday. Me? I'll be working. Gotta pay off those treasures in layaway! Pics to come, I promise!

Chemtrail Rebuttal

In my Post called "What I Saw Today" I commented on the chemtrails I witnessed. A commenter, Blayloc, had this to say, getting his information from good ol' wikipedia:

"You mean contrails? A jet engine produces carbon dioxide and water vapor just like every other combustion reaction. When this water vapor hits the cold atmosphere at those altitudes it condenses into solid water droplets, a condensation trail, or contrail."

I ask this, how long has it been since you saw an actual contrail? One that evaporated soon after its creation? Nowadays, they seem to hang around for hours and eventually spread out to cover vast portions of the sky. Many times the chemtrails are in a regular grid.

Here is some info on chemtrails, which have been identified since 1997.  Here some more with comparisons of contrails and chemtrails. Here is a site that details some of the chemical composition of the chemtrails. And shows many pictures of planes actually spraying as well as some of the patterns of a sprayed sky. And this site has a link to an upcoming class action lawsuit over chemtrails.

I could keep doing this all freaking night but why? Take that wiki. Chemtrails ARE documented and HAVE been analyzed. The ill health effects have been determined and they are not good.

Now after all that ,

 Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Fun Show Report

I made it to the fun show this morning. It was in a little town that was once known as the former mule capitol of the world. No, really. This town produced all the mules for Great Britain and Indian armies back when they used mules. Big stout Missouri mules by the thousands. Look it up, Lathrop Missouri. Any way, this was a little show at the antique equipment fairground. During the spring and summer months they have steam tractor shows and various old equipment shows and flea markets. You know of a place like this I'm sure. So this show was cheap to get into, 3 bucks and there were about 25 dealers. This venue gave a lot of time to bs with dealers and customers. As trading stock I took a NEF Sportster SS1 in .22 LR. It had a BSA red dot sight topping it off. In short order I had swapped it for an NEF single shot 12 gauge shotgun and 50 bucks. I then made my way to the sole knife dealer at this show. They had a new Camillus USMC type knife in stainless. It has a flat grind with a traditional stacked leather handle. the black sheath is composed of heavy leather. They were asking 65 and I walked off with it for 45. Not too shabby. I ended up making 10 bucks today. Take a look.

Food Pic II

I made a roasted chicken for dinner a couple of weeks ago. It was really good too. I simply took a nice size hen and rubbed it with butter and sprinkled a little salt and pepper on it and stuck it in the oven for, well, until it was done. Yummy too! Show us your food pictures please.

Food Picture

Stephen over at Standing Outside Looking In has posted some nice looking pictures of food lately and has asked others to follow suit. I didn't make these today, but several days ago. I do love my biscuits. Tall, tender and tasty. Good by themselves, or covered in sausage gravy or honey or jelly or butter or filled with a slab of sausage or bacon and a fried egg. Mmmmm. A good biscuit cain't be beat.

What I Saw Today

This morning dawned cool and bright with a hazy sky. I ran to McD's to get Cherry Pie a breakfast sammie. She's feeling poorly and that's what she wanted, so....
Any way I finally left for work at the pawn shop and the first thing I saw was a moronic driver but I won't get into that. Then I got to looking at the sky during my drive. The haze I was seeing was not clouds but a multitude of chemtrails. The entire sky was covered in a haze of new trails, old broad trails and nearly indistinguishable trails but they were all identifiable as chemtrails, dozens and dozens of them. Who knows what rained down on our heads today.
After I got to work and exited my truck, I heard a car moving at a rapid pace, on the highway next to the building. I turned and saw a new camaro really bustin' a move on 435 South. He had to be doing 120 by the look of his passes. It seem as he got further away his exhaust note changed. Then I realized it WAS a different exhaust note. I started looking and on 435 North saw a late 70's or early 80's blown corvette hustling up the road. What a sight! What a sound!
Business at the pawn shop started off brisk. And stayed that way all day. The next thing I saw was another item I desire.  I really need blinders at this place. A High Standard Derringer in 22 LR in stainless steel with a custom made back pocket holster. It is around 95 percent. It looks similar to this:

Only better. I really want this one. Hopefully this'n 'll hang out awhile, waiting on me. I hear it calling my name now.

The next thing I saw was a ...tweaker. She wanted to pawn an electronic game to help pay for a new phone as the "only thing in life she cares about" got broken this morning. Man, she was in full tweak. Scratching, shaking, hugging herself, crying, indecisive. She had to frequently ask for assistance from the man accompanying her. Pitiful.
The last interesting thing I saw this evening was something we don't see a lot of around here. A black man in full hunting camo. Complete with "leafy" pants. He looked happy as could be. I really envied him for what ever it was he he had been doing on this beautiful November day.
Well that's all I saw today. Some were cool, some were terrible. It was just another day in the life of a Midwest Rebel. I do have a small local fun show to attend tommorrow. Yay for me!

Say Goodbye to Twinkie, Say Goodbye to Zinger, Say...

Every bodies favorite snack brand, Hostess is having labor issues. After a protracted strike by the Teamsters and the Bakers Unions, the Teamsters accepted the companies demands. The Bakers rejected the deal.

"The new contract cut salaries across the company by eight percent in the first year of the five-year agreement. Salaries were then scheduled to bump up three percent in the next three years and one percent in the final year.

Hostess also reduced its pension obligations and its contribution to the employees’ health care plan. In exchange, the company offered concessions, including a 25 percent equity stake for workers and the inclusion of two union representatives on an eight-member board of directors."

Hostess makes and distributes well known items such as Twinkies, Zingers, Hostess Cupcakes, mini pies, Wonder Bread and many, many others that millions of people have grown up with and depend on to keep their carb count exceedingly high and their sweet tooth satisfied. That all my be ending though.

Hostess has,

" announced Friday that it is asking a federal bankruptcy court for permission to close its operations, blaming a strike by bakers protesting a new contract imposed on them"

Some of the concessions included a pay cut for a couple years then a pay increase for a couple years and then Hostess was to reduce their involvement in the pension and employee health care plans.

I guess the Bakers would rather be on unemployment instead of collecting a nice Union wage.

We are not talking about a local bakery either. Hostess or Interstate Brands has may employees, bakeries and distribution centers. This is a major deal and if the court grants the Company the right to close many thousands of people will be out of work. Now Hostess is not innocent. In the past eight years they have "reorganized" twice. But in the interest of the employees, Hostess would change the make up of the board.

" In exchange, the company offered concessions, including a 25 percent equity stake for workers and the inclusion of two union representatives on an eight-member board of directors".

How big is this possible closing?

" The closing will result in Hostess’ nearly 18,500 workers losing their jobs as the company shuts 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers nationwide. The bakers’ union represents around 5,000."

I want to ask those Bakers, hows that Union thing working out for ya now?
Union mentality has ruined yet another business. Unions had their golden days, they have brought about employee protections and in general made workers lives better. But, when they tell a company we will not accept your deal, even if it comes to closing the business. We would rather stand on a corner and beg for our living. I have only one thing to say,  Fucking idiots.

Hey Ken, enjoy your time off my friend! I know life is hard but you will get through these trying times.

Just A Little Secish

I have been reading all the stories about States that have submitted petitions to the white house website, calling for secession. 23 States in all. Texas, has far surpassed the 25,000 requires signature, but, hey, we figured that right? I mean it IS Texas. But, Louisiana is edging ever closer to that number. My own State, Missouri needs another 11K or so. Some States have only had  a few hundred signers do their thing.

Now don't get me wrong, these petitions have a shorter life span that that snowball in Hades. I mean the President has to sign off on them. Do you think that Obummer is gonna do that? What President would? What kind if signal does that send? One of strength and political skill? I think not.
Does signing these petitions make one feel better? Most likely. Does it show the level of discontent in this country? It sure does.
Now a lot of folks have been flapping their jaws about wanting to do something, anything about their disappointment in the government. Well here's your chance to do something. Symbolic yeah, but if ya wanna walk the walk ya gotta talk the talk. Would you preferred armed insurrection over a peaceful withdrawal? Politely asking is far superior than outright demanding at the point of a gun. So, to make it easy for you:

Create an account at the white house website
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/register?destination=petitions

The find your States petition by clicking on Open Petitions
Scroll to your States petition, click on Find Out More, then click on Sign Petition.

Are you worried about creating an account with the white house website? If you have a federal license of any kind you are on a list, if you have a firearms or political blog, most likely you're on a list. If you have searched certain terms on Google you may be on a list. It goes on and on. So put your fears aside, buck up and sign the petition.

Getting Bigger By The Moment, Government That Is

6,125 proposed regulations in the last 90 day. 68 possible new laws or rules every fucking day. Now answer me this...Is that an example of smaller government? We have no chance to survive this leviathon.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/6125-proposed-regulations-and-notifications-posted-last-90-days-average-68-day

Pitter Patter...

I'm sitting here enjoying a biscuit with honey and listening to  the pitter patter of sleet against the window for the first time this year. What will the future hold for this winter? Snow? Ice? Sleet? Bitter cold? The options are exciting to me! The day dawned with a hard, icy rain pounding on the roof. Heavy grey clouds obscuring the sun. Wind, whistling past the eves, stripping the last red, gold leaves from the trees. Winter signals it's approach.

But, but, It's Ours!

I'm sure you've heard of the emergence of tungsten filled gold bars and ingots. Ya know, fake gold bars that seem to emanate from well, us. Or that is US as in United States. The word is getting out in the international community too. Germany wants all of it's gold that is being held in the New Your Federal Reserve to come home. The Fed says not a chance. WTF? What would you do if you went to your bank and said please let me have my money and they said, in the interest of security and protecting the process, we will not give it to you, we will not let you see it either?

"Calls for Germany to repatriate its 1,536 tons of gold reserves held at the NY Fed are intensifying as Der Spiegel reports the Federal Reserve has refused to allow German inspectors to even view the country’s massive gold reserves “in the interest of security and of the control process."

Go read the whole sordid story of this deception. Let this be a lesson to all of us, if you buy any precious metal, take possession of it at the time of the sale. Do not let the seller or the bank or the whatever hold it for you. If a major nation such as Germany can't get to their deposit, what are our chances?
If the German gold is really gold clad tungsten, where is the real gold? Is this what is funding all our wars? Is it the funding for the One Worlders? The Bilderburgers? The shadow government? I'd sure like to know.

An Open Letter

There has been a downfall in morale in the militia community since the recent election. Brothers and Sisters, keep your heads up and your powder dry. You are not alone, you will have companionship in your final days. Please read the attached open letter below.

PROPHECY CAN BE FOUND IN THE STRANGEST OF PLACES.

The United States Militias are with you. Do not despair, do not relent. We welcome the

removal of masks and the hardness of truth. You are not alone. We were here when it all started.

We have paid in blood and tears for thirty years, as many of you now realize you will have to pay.

Do not let fear drive you. Do not give up five minutes before the miracle occurs. You are not

beaten until you are in the cold hard ground. Do not hide. Do not give up one inch. Go boldly into

the fray with faith in your heart and a song on your lips. You, the Patriots of this age are our Sinn

Fein, we need you to stand. And in standing, become the stone that can not be moved. Find the

Militia in your State, you will find a brotherhood that the Marxists and the Corrupt can not

match. You will be welcomed, you will be educated, you will be trained to be an effective freedom

fighter.

“We are what our forefathers envisioned, strong-willed,and self-reliant. We are the legacy they

fought to build. We are not anti-government, We are anti-corruption. We are not anti-immigrant,

We are pro-citizenship. We are not separatists, We are Constitutionalists. We know our history

and revere it, We love our country and fear for it. We are your mechanics, and your insurance

agents. Your police and your firefighters. We are your neighbors. We are Citizens and We are the

Militia.”

“HARD RAIN”

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?

I’ve stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains

I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways

I’ve stepped in the middle of seven sad forests

I’ve been out in front of a dozen dead oceans

I’ve been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, and it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?

I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it

I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it

I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin’

I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin’

I saw a white ladder all covered with water

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken

I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?

And what did you hear, my darling young one?

I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin’

Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world

Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin’

Heard ten thousand whisperin’ and nobody listenin’

Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin’

Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter

Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, who did you meet, my blue-eyed son?

Who did you meet, my darling young one?

I met a young child beside a dead pony

I met a white man who walked a black dog

I met a young woman whose body was burning

I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow

I met one man who was wounded in love

I met another man who was wounded with hatred

And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what’ll you do now, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, what’ll you do now, my darling young one?

I’m a-goin’ back out ’fore the rain starts a-fallin’

I’ll walk to the depths of the deepest black forest

Where the people are many and their hands are all empty

Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters

Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison

Where the executioner’s face is always well hidden

Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten

Where black is the color, where none is the number

And I’ll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it

And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it

Then I’ll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin’

But I’ll know my song well before I start singin’

And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

The Obama Files

I just ran across this series of videos. They are very interesting and come courtesy of the Obama Files. Go on over and sit for a spell.

A Few Good Things

There have been some good things as a result of this election. Not many, but ya gotta take 'em when ya get 'em.

Several states challenged the unconstitutional meddling of the federal government on Tuesday

Reports are already coming in that gun sales are booming after the re-election of Barack Obama, with gun manufacturers seeing their stocks soar as the Obama administration moves to ramp up gun
control efforts via the United Nations.

The Ron Paul movement is a big winner here. The GOP told the libertarians in the party to get lost, and the GOP paid for it. Interestingly, both Iowa and Nevada, where Ron Paul supporters gained control of the state party, both went to Obama after the Romney campaign actively fought to disenfranchise Ron Paul supporters. I guess the GOP got what it wanted there.

It Has Started, The Beginning of the Tsunami

You know all those regulations that Obamacare is full of? Do you remember how many business owners said that those regs would bankrupt them unless they laid off a bunch of employees? Do you remember the quote "the gloves are off"? Take a look at these stories to see what's coming down the pike. It has started, we'll see if this becomes a trend. Click on them for the full story.

"I had to lay off 22 people today to make sure that my business is gonna thrive and I’m gonna be around for years to come. I have to build up that nest egg now for the taxes and regulations that are coming my way. Elections do have consequences, but so do choices. A choice you make every day has consequences and you know what, I’ve always put my employees first, but unfortunately today I have to put me and my family first, and you watch what’s gonna happen. I’m just one guy with 114 employees — well was 114 employees — watch what happens in the next six months. The Dow alone lost 314 points today. There’s a tsunami coming and if you didn’t think this election had consequences, just wait.”

Boeing announced a major restructuring of its defense division on Wednesday that will cut 30 percent of management jobs from 2010 levels, close facilities in California and consolidate several business units to cut costs

Less than 24 hours after winning re-election, President Barack Obama’s administration joined with China, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and more than 150 other governments, in supporting renewed debate on the proposed United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, confirming the worst fears of the American gun rights community.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who has championed gun control in her state for decades and co-wrote the original assault weapons ban enacted by the federal government in the 1990′s, wishes to bring even more stringent federal mandates to the land of the free.

What Good?

It is incomprehensible to me that this nation elected this moron again. I cannot think of a single good thing he has done for this country. Labor Unions, shame on you. Hispanic voters, shame on you, black voters, shame on you. Can anyone name one good thing Barry has done for this country? Can you name several things he has done TO this country? Off the top of my head...

Obamacare
Fast and Furious
Solyndra
Benghazi
Hurricane Sandy reaction or lack of
Persecution of Big Business and Coal Energy
Denial of the Keystone Pipeline
Using Czar's to bypass Congress
Stimulus Bill (election support payback)
Refusal to prosecute the Black Panthers
Sued Arizona over it's immigration bill that supported US law
Named socialist/communists/progressives to staff
Shut down the oil industry in the Gulf
His Sec State signed onto UN small arms treaty
His green energy failures
Did the infamous apology tour
He has no diplomacy when dealing with other nations
Has distanced our only ally in the Middle East
Spent millions on White House concerts and parties, vacations and date nights
Wanted service men and women to provide own insurance
His lies to conceal his true identity

I'm sure the list goes on and on.
And the voters of this Nation elected him again?

Four More Years of a Decent to Socialism

My heart weeps, my soul is dark, my spirit is enraged, my mind is reeling. Four more years of shoddy statesmanship by an illegal alien, a Manchurian candidate, a total unknown who has hidden his entire background at the expense of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Whose dollars, we don't know. A stake has been driven through heart of the Republic.
This impostor has four more years to complete his systematic destruction of the United States and surrender us to the islamists and the socialists. We are well and truly fucked.
At least he can't blame Bush now, or will he? It is incomprehensible to me that this jack ass has been re-elected but then when most of the country depends on a government check, food stamps, disability or paycheck, the vote has been bought.

A Thought and A Couple Of Songs

I just had a couple thoughts on my excursion of this morning. I went to a polling place, a library and a grocery store. All three of those places do not allow weapons, specifically guns and knives. At all three places I engaged people in conversation, had some laughs, exchanged some serious thoughts with them and none of them ever had a clue that I had a giant f'n knife in my front pocket and a big bore revolver in my back pocket. I will NOT be disarmed in a victim disarmament zone. I will not be a victim.

While driving around town I heard this, one of my favorite songs...

Then I heard this one too. I had forgotten how good Tracy Chapman's singing is.

Voting Day and Other Stuff

I got up this morning brushed my teeth, scraped my face and took a shower. Got dressed in a hurry and went to the polling place. When I arrived parking was pretty slim. I parked on the grass at the entrance to the lot. When I came out it was a steady stream of cars entering and not many parking places left. This polling place is one of the larger churches in town and accordingly has a pretty good size parking lot. Packed. Lined up along the driveway.
I got my form, blacked in all the ovals next to Libertarians and in the absence of a Libertarian the Republican oval got filled in. There, I may have committed a misdemeanor. It is illegal in Missourah and other states to "show" how you voted. So, those emails and tweets with pics of the completed ballot are illegal. Writing about it? I don't know. I met a few folks in line who were voting for the first time in their lives. What's that say about this election?

After voting I went to get a couple gallons of Kangen water and ended up watching the shop while she went to vote.
When our friend the shop owner got back I showed her a text message I get from Price Chopper. They do a weekly text with a loss leader as the bait. Today it was a 4 pound bag of sugar for one dollar. She said oh so smugly, 'I don't use sugar" Well good for you. Is she going to start turning down all those cakes, pies and cookies we bring to her? When I got my sugar the store also had a special on left over halloween cookies, 2 large trays for 2.79. What a deal on whole bunch of sweet stuff.
Hey, I also squeezed in a trip to the library and a hair cut. The hair cut, hmmm, When I go to a salon, the girls and women that cut my hair end up taking a loooonng time to do it and I never get the cut I asked for. But, I have had women cut my hair for nearly 35 years and to  have a man cut it now seems well, it seems just a little queer. Yeah that kind of queer. Today I had a cute little tooth pick of a girl cut my hair. While her little girl watched. I also notice no wedding ring on her hand. There are so many young women in this town that have children an no husband or father figure for the kids. Is this a deficiency of the young men in this town or a decision on the part of the girls. Or is this a nation wide situation? Either way it's sad.

A Long Gone Dude

A while back Cherry and I acquired a 9 month old black and white border collie. He has grown to be a spirited, intelligent, and well, a rather athletic dog. He really kept our German Shepherd on his toes. The little guy developed a nasty habit of jumping the fence and going for a romp around town. We tried a cable, deterrence sprays, and in the last couple of days an electrified wire on the fence. The electric fence just taught him to jump higher. So, after several calls from the animal control freaks, we had to get rid of the little guy. My brother in law and his wife took him in. They are partial to dogs and seem to always have a new rescued dog around the mansion. The little guy is long gone now. So long little guy.

We dropped the dog off when we went to the monthly family dinner of Cherry's family. We had a nice beef and vegetable soup with crescent rolls. Dessert was walnut brownies with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Mmmmmm!

I Like Guns

I know you've seen this video but since it fits me I'm putting it here this morning. I have to say, I like guns!

It's A Changy Thang

I've gotta new look here. Whaddya think? I got tired of the narrow columns that were not adjustable. So this morning I made the change. Now you can view this site with full size pictures and graphics. By the way, you're welcome.

I'm Just Sayin'

Head over to Zoomies world and pick up a couple or three of his III art work. Help promote the III efforts and get this man's talents out there.

Just A Little Bite

I bit the bullet today and put a Remington pump 22 on lay-a-way. I could not stand looking at the disgraceful "artwork" that had been carved into the side of the receiver any longer. Evidently at some point in the past one of the previous owners had transferred this gun to another individual and to commemorate the deal had taken a nail or knife or his devilish claw and scratched ...'Blankety blank asswipe to moronic person" in the side of the receiver. Such a disgusting act could not be tolerated in my eye any longer. Once I have this gem home, I will file the offending crap off the side and then do my usual work to it and hopefully it will look all better.

It is  572 Fieldmaster much like this one...

Only this one isn't boogered up by a dickhead. In reality, the one I'm getting has decent wood and has the usual faded blue on the barrel from light surface rust. I plan on leaving the wood as is and redoing the receiver as well as rubbing some Oxpho Blue on the barrel and magazine tube just to darken them.

A Couple More

Well, a couple more rifles have made it to gun rack at work. The first is a pre-warning Ruger 10/22. It's got the nice walnut Ruger used to put on them. Remember those days? And the second is an 1894 Marlin lever action in 44-40 caliber. This  one has had the metal refinished and we cannot tell if it is nickle plated or is just polished out to a high shine. Either way it's a good looking firearm. In the pistol case we have a nickle plated, High Standard H-B 22 auto loading pistol. It needs a recoil spring unfortunately. It has some markings on the nickle and is in my opinion about 70 percent. The coming days will let me see if any more of these classics will make it to our shelves or stay in storage until the auction.

Just A Little More

So far we have placed on the gun rack a Postal Meter 30 carbine, an Enfield number 5 mark one jungle carbine, a Marlin 22 magnum rifle, a as new Marlin 336 from 1972, a Daisy 22 rimfire rifle  and 3 knock off cap and ball pistols. One is a steel framed 1858 Remington s I just wrote about, a brass framed version and a copy of a Colt. More to come!

A Little Setback

I'm am {} that friggin close to getting the Model 94 project done. I found that the 1980's Winchester receivers are a strange alloy and won't take bluing very well. That explains the weird anodized looking coating I had a hard time getting off the receiver. In my quest to finish this I ordered some Duracoat in their Gun Blue color. On the screen it was a close match with the small parts I compared it to. The brown truck of joy showed up last Wednesday and I set to work Thursday. The color is no where close to matching. Son of a bitch! My shipment include a full color catalog of all of Duracoats products as well as photo renderings of all their colors. Now it looks like gloss black is the closest I'm going to get. At least the first coat of Gun Blue color will make a good base for the Gloss Black color. I sanded the first coat to make some tooth for the next and now have to order the new color. If Gloss Black come out good it'll have to suffice. I mean, hell, the original receiver color and finish didn't match the other parts anyway. Unless Duracoat comes up with Black Chrome color.

A Buck The 1858 Way

I have done a lot of deer hunting. I love to hunt deer. I have put many of these critters in the freezer and enjoyed many dinners from them. My wife, god bless her, is a venison tenderloin crack addict. No really, while I'm trying to carry a cooler through the house, she is trying to open the damn cooler and dig out a package of those tender delights.
I have quite few deer hunting stories. Some I'll tell and some I won't. Here is one of the good ones.

I have access to 120 acres south of Nevada Missourah. It is an old peanut farm, now half oak timber and the other half is mixed sumac thicket and cedar thicket and grassy clearings. I always had better luck in the timber and grassy/timber edges.
On this particular hunt I had invited my brother-in-law and a common friend of ours. We had made it to our stands in the early morning darkness and had not seen anything to shoot by noon. We had agreed to meet at the truck around that time so off we went to Nevada to get some lunch. Now this was a very warm season that year. When we came back from lunch we all had on t-shirts and orange vest over them. After talking it over we decide to still hunt to our stands then meet up at dark. The friend headed up to the north side of the property, while my BIL and I went to the south side and had about 40-50 yards between us to start with. We had slipped through the sumac and grassy areas and made it down to the timber without seeing anything. I started into the oaks and had made about 30 yards when one of my side ways scans yielded a buck napping in a patch of sunlight about 45 yards away. I had my rifle, a Winchester 30/06 slung over my shoulder and a replica of an 1858 Remington .44 caliber cap and ball revolver carried in a cross draw holster. Suddenly all of us hear a loud CRACK from up north. Me, my BIL and the buck all swiveled our heads to focus on that direction. Quietly drawing the 1858 I sent a round ball crashing though the brain pan of the buck. My BIL jumped and asked, what the hell I was doing? Standing in a cloud of smoke I said, "I just shot that buck over there." He turned out to be a nice 6 pointer and was the best taken that weekend.

I still have access to that property, but since my friend the owner died, his widow lets a lot of people hunt that property and it is getting very crowded. And that CRACK that made the buck lift his head for me? It was our friend stepping on a dead limb on the ground that gave way, much to his surprise.

The Collection

My boss had his day cut out for him! Inventorying, researching and entering in the A&D book over 50 firearms from an estate we took in. I have been drooling all day over this collection. Mausers, Springfield's, Krags, lever actions of all sorts, a 30 carbine, a REAL SMLE Jungle Carbine, .22's of many flavors, Winchesters, Savages, Harrington and Richardsons, a German G43 semi auto rifle, an Austrian Johann Springer single shot rifle, a couple of cap and ball revolvers, some break top revolvers, even a deactivated Hotchkiss machine gun! The list goes on and on. I could not keep from diverting my attention to this wonderful treasure trove. If I can come up with the bucks, I've got my eye on a couple. Imagine that! Some of the better and more rare of this collection will go to an auction to be disposed of. What a day!

What I found And What's Coming

I went to the grocery store Sunday after noon to get a couple things Cherry Pie neglected to buy. I passed the liquor department on my way to the sausage freezer and saw a familiar red tag hanging below the Wild Turkey. Right turn...NOW! Yep Wild Turkey 101 on sale for $19.99! Looking frantically calmly through my wallet I found a hidden twenty dollar bill. Yahoo! A bottle went into the cart and I got the rest of my shopping done uninterrupted. Back home, I was putting the stuff away and reached to put the liquor in the "liquor cabinet" and found, shock, shock, a partial bottle of the same liquor. Holy Crap I coulda had a drink or two and didn't know it! Now I just gotta figure out when to have a drink or two. A cleaning gig every night M-F and an all freaking day job at the pawn shop Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. So that leaves Saturday night and Sunday. Sunday is usually reserved for household chores, lawn care and vehicle care and firearms projects. Saturday night it is. And Maybe Sunday evening. Relax have a drink or two, watch a show, visit with Cherry.

Sitting here looking out the window and I see a red squirrel sitting on the fence, leaves falling from the trees and a leaden sky hinting at a future of cold dreary days, days that give a boost to my soul and spirit. Winter is my time of the year. Cold, windy, snowy, icy, dark, dim, bright, crisp fall and winter is my time. Sipping hot chocolate, while listening to the wind howl and hearing the tappa tappa tap of ice pelting the windows. The squeak that snow makes when you walk on it during a really cold spell. And the best of all, the silence that reigns during a heavy snow storm. No cars, no kids, no nothing except the whisper of falling snow brushing through the trees.  Later on the scraping, banging of the snowplows racking up over time, filling in every ones driveways. Cursing them, the snow the, season and then looking at a mountain of shoveled snow and feeling tired, worn out, aching yet satisfied. Inside for a warm shower and one of my special hot chocolates. My season is fast approaching.
